Ranked from 162 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does the game fit the theme?
It fits the theme because the game takes place in strange shifting dimensions where the world changes between 2D and 3D. This creates places that do not behave normally and would feel confusing and unusual to exist in. It is also strange from the character’s perspective, since the square is moving through and discovering these unfamiliar dimensions for the first time.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All assets were made by us, expect for the tesseract. Music was made in house, all assets and all code was written by us.

How many people worked on the game?
4

Pretty innovative gameplay, though I didn't get to really experience most of it because I think I got a bug(?) where the player kept jumping and slowly moving right constantly. Then spamming jump would sometimes get me to mega jump. Weird! The visuals and audio are alright, although the music loop gets pretty samey after a while. Definitely cool stuff albeit a bit confusing. Great work!

Developer

Hah! You are the first one who got this bug surprisingly, could you please report on what level you got the bug on? And what browser you are using? If you don't mind

Submitted

Right from the bat as soon as the game started. On Firefox.

Oh yeah! Big fan o f the concept even though I felt a little overwhelmed at first getting along with the rotation and 3D at the same time. :D

Little tip: Remove the fullscreen option from your itch-page as the Unity build comes with its own. For my taste the gravity of the character felt a little low and therefore the game felt slightly slow. For me the level goals seemed to trigger a little late when I jumped onto them.

All in all great submission! :3

Developer

Appreciate the kind words! Thank you so much for the tip, this is our first itch.io jam lmao!

What an exciting multidimensional game. That's a very nice submission for the jam. I think it defo fits the theme. Visuals are nice and simple. Music is a bit too loud, but it's not a big deal. I really love these types of puzzle games! Amazing job, guys! And I hope you continue with that game and bring more games like this to next jams

Developer

Thank you so much! It means a lot to us!!!

Honestly, i am usually not one for puzzle games but i must say that while i was a little confused at first, after realising  the potential of switching to 3D i got way more into it than i thought! The difficulty for me was just right and i can only imagine what kind of puzzles could possibly be born of this idea, keep it up!

Developer

Thx! We might turn it into a full game one day? Who knows!

Submitted

Remarkable! I am expecting a Post-Jam of it, it's quite potential an idea.

Developer

Thx! One day, maybe.

Submitted

Really cool idea, well done!

Developer

Thank you :D

Really solid work! I’m honestly impressed with the puzzles. they’re so well designed and fit the jam's theme perfectly. The 2D/3D swap definitely gave me some Toodee and Topdee vibes, and I mean that as a huge compliment!

My only suggestion would be to make the transition between dimensions a bit more obvious. Sometimes I’d hit Shift and wasn't 100% sure which mode I was in for a second.  Other than that, the game is excellent. Great job! :)

Developer

Yeah, maybe if we make the post-jam game, we'll include some indicator like a little logo on top to indicate 3D mode? But thats actually really good feedback, we didnt get that from anyone yet, and its actually something really valid, thx!

Thx so much for the kind words and feedback!

Really cool concept with an amazing level of execution for a game jam. Loved all the extra puzzle intricacies that can be added due to the extra dimensions and gravity flipping. Well done!

Developer

Ey! Thank you!!! :3

I just bamboozled when I first triggered the 2D/3D switch! It's an incredible concept, very well executed with some of the great level design! Overall loved the game but 3D camera feels a bit off, a bit weird. It feels like I did something wrong and broke the game unintentionally. Maybe a little fine-tuning on the 3D camera and it's controlls would be great!

Developer

Yeah I get what you mean! Its something to get used to but some QoL improvements could go a long way! Thx for the feedback!

Submitted

really cool concept. only thing i really would see to change is that collision in 2D sometimes didnt register because i wasnt on the sxame plane in 3D. that was frustrating and tedious at times. other than that io had some fun with this gfame. thanks :)

Developer

heeey thanks! The 'not being on the same plane' thing is kinda intentional, so sorry if it felt bad!

Submitted

this game is absolutely really cool and satisfying to play. although i wasnt able to beat it because i couldnt pull boxes away from an edge/corner which is kind of frustrating. other than that, i see the strange aspect with the gravity shifting dimensions and the concept is really cool.

Developer(+1)

The boxes would follow standard physics, so if you rotate the room again, then the box will fall back, so you can try again! Hope that helps!

Submitted

tysm for the tip i managed to get to the end of the game!

Submitted

Really amazing concept and it was put together really well. I loved the puzzles and gameplay, it was tricky at times but enjoyable to learn and experience. Like it!

Developer

Thank you so much! The feedback is really important to us!

Wow, that was really interesting, especially the moment I stumbled upon a level that seemed to have no solution, then checked the game page and discovered you can switch to 3D. I’ve never seen anything like that before, so the concept feels fresh and genuinely fun to experiment with.

Some rough points:

  • The lack of an in-game tutorial made me go check the instructions on the game page. I did that because I’m rating the game, but most players will probably just quit once they get stuck without any guidance. Even a minimal in-game hint system would help a lot.

  • The visuals are very simple. They work fine for a while, but it’s hard to stay engaged for long with plain forms and flat colors that don’t really spark the imagination. That said, this feels like something that could be significantly improved in a post-jam version if you decide to continue development.

  • The 3D camera feels a bit awkward. Mouse sensitivity is too high, and there’s noticeable clipping in several places. However, these seem like technical issues that are definitely fixable.

Overall - I really enjoyed the uniqueness of the game.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback, this means a lot to us! We'll for sure improve the game in the post-jam! Thx!!!

Submitted

Solid game. I had to read the description to understand how to play the game, so a tutorial would be nice

Developer

Yeah, a tutorial is something we def should have included

Submitted

I didn't get how to rotate the environment. I think it needs more tutorials. Other than that, I really liked the music, art style and game idea :)

Developer

Try rotating the level by touching the white outline of the border of the map! Its in the description! And yeah, you are right we should have added some text explaining the mechanics besides the descriptions!

Submitted

Maybe I am dumb, but I tried to touch the white outline, but it didn't work :(

Developer (1 edit)

Are you by any chance in 3D mode? It only works in 2D mode to challenge u. So try pressing shift to untoggle back to 2D mode and then touching the wall again! Sorry for the confusion

Submitted

Ok, I'll try again!

Submitted

The gameplay is pretty basic and the mechanic is used multiple time on a lot of game jam game but I think it might be more mastered , the art style is not bad it fits greatly , Don't have any complains also , like the music it makes me remember old flash game and that's it . Great job !

Submitted

Mindboggling!

Developer

:D

Submitted

The switching between 3D and 2D looked pretty cool, and it was fun too. The only real problem I had was that there were some blocks I couldn't jump on in 2D, but that could be because they were further away in 3D.

Developer(+1)

Appreciate the feedback! I LOVE your game!!!

Thank you!! :D
