I LOVE this game idea, its so simple yet so smart at the same time. Playing the same level over and over again but with diffrent restrictions that carry onto the next loop. And even thought the game is hard its fun, so it keeps you coming back for more (I also made a difficult game so I can relate =D).  The only thing I can critizes is that it really does feel more like a mobile game then a snes game but besides its fun.

thanks so much for reviewing and taking the time to provide feedback, the difficulty level is a consistent message so it will be one of the first things I find x post jam.

Fun game! I really like the concept of increasing the difficulty each loop. That said, I was only able to get 6 loops in, which is a shame, because I was looking forward to seeing what the remaining changes were. If the difficulty is where you wanted it, maybe a 'continue' type feature would be nice, e.g., starting 1 or 2 loops back from your last run? With the presses, I would have liked more of a hint of when they were going to drop, e.g., maybe they jiggle for 1 second or something. I also felt like the hitbox for the presses were maybe a little too big, because it often felt like it had just started coming down and I was already dead. FYI, I also experienced the freeze at the start of each loop (playing on web).

amazing feedback thank you really appreciate it.  I’m making a list of all of the suggestions and change to apply for a version 2 release

AMAZING! This is probably one of the most polished games I have played in this jam. Great controls, great visuals, awesome music! The only downside for me was, that I always encountered a small lag in the beginning of a new loop. That's it!

Developer

thanks so much, I’ve never noticed the lag, but I can imagine that’s irritating, well take a look at fix for a future release, really appreciate your time and feedback and glad you enjoyed the game.

A fun game and it really nails the theme of being stuck in a loop! I was so stuck that I had a hard time getting out of it lol. It’s a hard game and it made me a bit frustrated when I had to start all over again. Maybe if getting hurt wouldn’t cause you to restart the level, it would feel more fair to me. But maybe this was on purpose to make it more difficult.

I also liked the art style and the sound!

Developer

thank you so much for the kind words, appreciate your time.

I think I played and tested it too much that I didn’t realise how hard it was ended up making it.

Kind of hard, but the Sonic SFX was really annoying.

I detected a bug that happens when you are starting the level, proceed for a while and the game stops for 2 seconds only to continue normally afterwards. Not a gamebreaker but it's bothersome since it alters the flow.

Developer

That's an odd bug and never noticed that in all of the testing we have gone through, still unable to replicate - but we will continue to investigate.  Thanks for your feedback

I got 5 loops in!

Positives:

+ The visuals of the characters and tileset definitely were very SNES

+the concept of going through the same level but different is a cool way to follow the theme

+the getting crushed animation was funni

Suggestions:

>I wish there was controller support. I also had to switch to my mouse to click buttons, I'd have prefered to just keep it to arrows and the jump button throughout the whole experience

>Not sure why there was Sonic ring collecting sfx in the music. Kinda through me off

Overall:

I had a pleasant experience.  Marv seems like a chill guy, I hope he gets a less dangerous job in the future.

Great suggestions thanks, I’ll take them on board post Jam for dev upgrades, thanks for your time and feedback, appreciate it.

Great game!

Only gripe would be the rules page seemed a little intimidating since the layout was more akin to a wall of text. The difficulty seems to ramp pretty hard, too. Other than that, I love how simple and straightforward the game is! the art is really fun too. Even if there's some minor OCD issues with it.

Developer

Hey, thank you for your feedback - I think I played it too many times to spot the difficulty ramping too quickly, great feedback that I can adopt for the upgrades.
