I liked the characters and dialogue a lot. In some ways I think it can fit into SNES like games rather than SNES style fully, but it is still a very nice art style!!
I wasn't a fan of the honey ( I think it's honey) it kinda just felt like it was slowing down the player for no other reason than to be harder. Other than that though, this game is great. I really like it. I'm still dying badly though LOL
Thanks, Im happy you enjoyed the dialogue and im very aware this doesn't fit into the snes style as much as I hoped, also the honey is ment to make platforming harder so I understand why you would find it bothersome (espically if you got the end of the game). If your having trouble with the game you can die over and over until you get a power up which makes the game easier (read the comment of the game page). But besides that Im very thankful that you enjoyed my game and I hope you get to the end.
I'll have to give this one another try later. It's an incredibly difficult game. The mechanics were implemented super well, and the level design was top notch. I also really enjoyed the witty insults from the bad guy in the cut scenes. The graphics are consistent, and good, but they don't really give me SNES vibes. Regardless, extremely well done game. Nice job!
Im glad you found it funny. I want to make a commercial RPG with the same type of humor so hearing that is nice, and yeah I'll do my best to fix the difficulty. THANKS FOR PLAYING!
OH BOY, it took me like 6 hours to beat this. Well, here is what I have to say:
Yeah it doesn't fit the SNES theme as well as I hoped but I'm glad you had a fun time I'll hopefully update the game in the future to make it more approachable. THANKS FOR PERSERVING :D
Shoop da woop it's a loop!
Positives:
+the banter was between the two characters was pretty funny
+I like the character design
+ the music got me in the mood to not give up. I also liked the choice of sfx, I think I heard the AlttP monster death sound
Suggestions:
>I seemed to keep restarting to the title screen. I wouldn't mind just being back with the wizard immediately.
>Felt more like 8-bit NES art
>I would have preferred on controller that continue dialogue be mapped to "A" on Xbox
Bugs:
>the physics of my jump and the speed of my movement seem to have changed between screens. I was suddenly very slow and my jump was sluggish in the second platforming screen with the bottomless pit.
Overall:
I gave up but was still charmed by the characters and presentation. It kept me going and the new dialogue was fun. I kept dying in the bottomless pit at the first screen. Skill issue on my part
Im happy you enjoyed they game, and like the character designs and you are 100% right when you say it feel more like an NES game since I'm not an artist and I didn't have time to make cutscenes. As for the difficulty yeah I designed the game so it was next to impossble to beat without dying so you would see the them in the jam. As for the physics that's not a bug that actually a feature, your standing in maple but since the sfx for the maple is hard to hear I understand why you though that. I appreciate your feedback and i'll take it into consideration, I'll update the game later today because the dialogue isn't complete and when I do I hope you try it again. (THANKS FOR PLAYING :D)
More than happy to have helped! I like your style!
