Congrats on winning the prize, it's well deserved! The details on the heart are realistic and it looks a little gross but in a good way- and it's clear you used your references which is fantastic. The light flickering is a nice touch, if you decide you want to go further on this piece I would try animating the heart to pump with it. The veins have some banding (look it up or dm me if unfamiliar) with the shading, so breaking that up would give it a more organic look. The lines floating around the heart don't look very purposeful the way that they are. If the intent was to make it stand out from the background better, I would recommend simply darkening the background to give the heart more contrast. I also really like seeing the open hole on the top left so I think showing a couple of the right too would be *chefs kiss*. And lastly, I just really appreciate your interpretation of the theme. I love outside-the-box thinkers!

The concept is fantastic, and the animation is simple but incredibly evocative. Amazing rendering on the heart as well.

Thanks! I'm not that good at animation so I wanted to add something small and simple enough that I could make and have it add and not take away value from the piece. Glad you liked it :)

woahh-- I like the self-exploration theme a lot, and the animation is very stimulating-- it makes my brain happy

I'm glad you like the animation. I almost didn't add any animation because I have almost no experience doing it.

oh really? you did pretty great, it's hard to believe this was your first time!

that thing looks disturbingly real 😭

great job with the shading, and what an awesome way to interpret the theme

Thanks! I had a good reference I guess and I really spent a long time working on the shading. there are some parts I still don't like too much but I guess there's always room for growth.

ALSO your interpretation of the theme was my favorite of the whole competition, you cooked!  😭

omg, look who's talking about cooking, let's just be co-chefs 👨‍🍳

Love the animation!

Definitely the most creative use of the theme :D, it's awesome how you conveyed the idea in a single piece

Developer

Thanks! I wish I could do shading and composition like you do 🙇‍♂️
