I need some bg music and sound effects because I have no idea how to make music but I'm a little confused where to start.

free sites are flooded with Ai right now You'll download Ai music by mistake and get disqualified  but I'm sure there some sites just be careful

your best option is ask someone help you. in game jam this big you should still be able to find a composer willing to help you.

looking for free music and sounds even with AI generated content is tedious when different sounds found don't really match.

I use Kevin Macleod's music from his official website https://incompetech.com/

You just have to press the button that says "Royalty-Free Music" or go to https://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/music.html

One of his songs, "Monkeys Spinning Monkeys" is among the most played in tik tok, or so it says in Kevin's wikipedia

You just have to credit the music in order to use it

Pixabay, most is ai but it tells you if it uses AI

pretty sure your supposed to make your own music

Opengameart.org has a bunch of good copy-right free stuff, I've been using it for ages. If you want to make absolutely sure the music is not AI generated, try finding one pre-2024. Happy developing!

Hurt Record was used by tetr.io... so long as you give them credit i think that should be fine

Soundly is an incredible place for free sound effects but it doesn't really have any music

Thank you to everyone! Will check out all the resources you guys gave.
