Slick design. Escalates quickly. :D

What were your inspirations for this game?

Developer(+1)

Thank you :)

The inspiration for the bar mechanic was Stardew Valley's fishing mechanic, originally I was going to try and replicate that but ended up changing it slightly. As for the visuals there wasn't any specific game that inspired me, but I tried to (roughly) stick to NES design limitations inspired by my entry to the 2025 NES Jam last year. Those were the main two, really. There are probably some other subconscious influences here and there too.

I really like the art style you went with, it feels like a polished 8-bit game, and the gameplay is great too! At first I thought you might be able to spam, but I think you slow down if you miss?

Developer

Thank you! And yes, you're right about the slow down, in fact if you spam fast enough you can actually move backwards across the track because I applied a tiny backwards movement as a penalty for missing

Super cute game, nice 8bit sound effects, the horses are adorable and I appreciate like the upgrades.

Simple and polished, it was fun! I also like the fact that you went over the “one hand controls” limitation, and made if a proper “one button control(s)”. Good job!

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you noticed that, it was a personal additional limitation I put on myself because I thought it would be fun to figure out ways around only using one button

Really enjoyable game. The difficulty scaled properly with each race, making them all feel challenging. Simple but fun.

Polished and fun little retro game. I liked using the slider to pick my upgrade as well, I thought that was clever. Good work!

fun little time waster, methinks its too easy though

Submitted(+1)

That's a really fun concept, very catchy! Using the minigame for the upgrade section is an awesome idea!

very cool game, I like how you use that bar concept everywhere.

I really like it! It's satisfying. A bit too easy once you get a few upgrades though. (got to race 50)

Developer

Yeah, it definitely gets too easy too quick, agreed. Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it

I really liked playing your game. I appreciate how the upgrade shop was also a minigame. Really cool concept all around and great presentation.

Developer

Thanks, glad you liked it :)
