Nice atmosphere and very spooky. There is a lack of tools for the player to "dodge" the sea monster. Anyway good job !

Took me 3 deaths to understand but once I got it I really enjoyed it! I liked the art and the atmosphere, it's really immersive!

Very spooky game. Interesting how you have to be careful not to get into the sea monster’s line of sight and make sure it doesn’t hear you, which builds a lot of tension. Also, watching its movement patterns before exposing yourself and passing through is pretty unsettling. Good job on the design!

Great atmosphere overall, I really like the choice of sounds used in this game. I think the only piece of feedback I have to offer is the addition of some UI elements to help tell players for example how much jet fuel is left in the backpack. Otherwise congrats on the game!

The use of sound is so effective, wow. It reminded me of the gameplay in little nightmares. I didn't understand exactly how to hide, whether it was to get out of line of sight or to not move, but I actually think that is one of the strengths of this game, it added a level of fear of not knowing exactly how to avoid it so I just tried to be safe with everything, making it extra tense when it felt like I just squeaked by. Also the art is fantastic, I love the style. Great work!

Very spooky game! I was on edge the entire time I was playing. The audio design is fantastic, as well as the environment. Great job to the team!

The game had me on the edge of my seat almost the entire time and it was very satisfying to get to the end. Art looked great and it  the game is amazing for a first game. I think a bit more explanation would help on what to do but small issue! Great job!

This was so tense in the best way. The underwater stealth vibe is awesome, the art style looks beautiful and keeps everything feeling serious, and the sound design really sells it.  The footsteps/heavy breathing had me second-guessing every move, and the tense musical cues did a great job warning me when the eel was nearby. Once I realized its attracted to the water-jet noises, everything clicked and the stealth started feeling way more readable.

I did make it to the end and found the mermaid...but yeah, "satisfying" in a horrible way since she's pinned down and dead lol. And that big open stretch right before her was absolutely terrifying to cross. Really cool concept, great atmosphere, and simple controls make you properly helpless without being annoying. Awesome work on your first game jam.

Feedback:

  • Adding a note about how you can be caught would be helpful
  • visual art style was awesome
  • sound feedback matched the atmosphere extremely well

Overall: Great jam! Looking forward to your future projects!

The tense atmosphere is greatly enhanced by the haunting steps and breathing. The paint-like art style keeps things serious without needing to look realistic. Finally, the simple moveset strengthens the sense of powerlessness without feeling annoying.

Sometimes foreground elements make it hard to tell when to hide, but it's an effectively tense experience overall. Nice work.

I've never played a game like this before, I really like the atmosphere, especially with the use of sound when the creature comes near, its really creepy. I really enjoyed it, great game :)

I found the mermaid! Wow! Great work on the art and I love the concept.  I love anything to do with the ocean. It's so big and creepy. I liked that it took a few playthroughs to learn the cues for when to not move, and where to not stand. Great job!
