I heard this was a bit of a controversial submission, but I enjoyed it for the most part. I think I agree that some more character-building and story circumstances that are not about blindness would be a bit nice.

I did feel very inspired by this game, as you might see in my VOD that I rambled for minutes and minutes on end about the ideas it sparked on me. I had a lot of thoughts about my experiences as an accessibility consultant and a friend of blind people, as well as relating to cringey experiences I may as well have had.

I kinda wish that I had more words to give for the review, but I have used up my energy rambling on stream. I think it would be nice to have the story feature more ‘normal’ good situations, and more opportunities to ask for help, ignore, be sassy, etc. For example, maybe at the start of the day you have more energy to educate people, but at the end of the day, if you burned out a loud, you no longer have as much energy to explain things and maybe your responses are a bit more rude etc. This would be an interesting concept that’s also about energy management and the spoon theory, because it’d also show that you don’t always have energy to report problems when you find things aren’t accessible.

I did find a strange this, when I asked Janet for help, she didn’t actually help me learn the environment upstairs. I think that was the only plothole.

Also that bug I’d mentioned? It turns out you’re just having TTS irregardless of whether I have a screen reader on or not. When I tried playing with NVDA and I was hearing the TTS going at the same time. So I had to turn it off.

That was an experience, tiring but interesting, worth fine tuning (with blind consultants/writers as well) because it’s a lot of food for thought and discussion that could be used for accessibility training circumstances. That’s my opinion.
