Good stuff.
The slow discovery process is nice, how things are scored and so on.
What becomes a rare place I could not figure out and did not spoil myself.
Very chill game and interesting concept! Really liked the music which added to the chill vibe of the game. I hope you continue working on this or a version of this game, as I think a cartography game would be very very cool :)
A little feedback: When selecting a card to place on a tile, because the card gets bigger you can't see the tiles on the map below the card. I thought maybe I couldn't select them because of that, but of course I could.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
I'm especially glad you liked the music - I decided to record it on a last-minute whim, so was very unsure how it was going to turn out!
There's a really great idea behind this game and I think with a bit more time and polish this could be a really great full game. I think my only suggestions would be making the final count faster and maybe making the game a bit easier. Also I think the mountain tile is bugged as it wasn't unlocking the tiles around it like the others do. But overall I would to see this game given a bit more time to be perfected. Well done and keep it up!
That's for playing, and thanks for the feedback on count-speed/difficulty! I didn't really have time to do much tuning during the jam, so that's definitely an area I would want to tweak if I come back to it.
Mountains weren't bugged - they're supposed to be impassable. I definitely need to make that clearer though!
Cute game! It would be cool if you had a book or something on the side to see what you've unlocked or keep stash of the rare places you've encountered s far. I like the concept!
Thank you! That was something I wanted to add, but didn't have time during the jam. Maybe for version 2...
Really liked it. It's a very chill game. I like how you learn to strategize bit by bit.
This is a really solid game! I didn't read the instructions, but I still found I was able to get the hang of it pretty quick. When I made bad moves, I felt like it was my fault rather than blame the game. It's easy to see the potential of much larger maps and tile pools.
Great job!
Really well done, great job on making a polished and fun/interesting game!
its so relaxing and the scoring system really cool
What a chill, relaxing game. I really got into the flow and enjoyed discovering the special tiles and trying to construct them. I think that my high score on the medium map was 48. expanding this out, I could see myself playing this for hours at a time. Great submission! 😁
Thanks for playing!
If I can ever bring myself to revist the hacky, rushed code I'd definitely like to expand it like adding more tile types, adding map progression while slowly unlocking tiles etc...
