Did I kill an elephant and a dog? It was a surprise all that sounds, The voice shouting 'Fire!' was a little to repetitive. I think it could be a very bizarre game once finished. I hope I can play it complete!
Congrats on making a submission (even if it is a very early prototype).
Unlike others, I found the other sounds actually fun and silly, and intuitively knew them to be more distractions than anything else. Like others said, I do agree that some sound effect for the gun firing and whether you hit or not would make this more complete of a submission. Hope you continue working on this and other audio games in the future!
I played it and I can confirm it’s very much a Work in Progress. I would like to see a version that’s finalized, though! Let me know if you do that.
I wasn’t entirely sure about what was happening. I would add some sound feedback to when I press space to shoot, so I know that this did something. And like you mentioned, some indication about the end of the game. So I know if I won. And probably some more enrichment so I understand better the narrative. I presume I’m hunting, but I’m not sure about details about that.
Like others said, I think it’s important to understand what the premise is and what each sound means.
Edit: VOD on twitch for a few days: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2718002410
I shot the dog I think :(
Very very rough gem, but something works here! Some feedback if you succeed or failed is a rather important feature that is missing :) but I could see the console log at least.
I fear that I’ve shot the clown too! 🙃
Hi shiftBacktick!! Thank you for checking out my game! As I mentioned above the clown is safe 😝
I can't wait to play the omega reach, Ive heard great things!
You’re very welcome! Please let us know when you’ve made more progress.
Noo not the dog! Haha if it makes you feel better, I did some background art and the dog and clown are both safely out of the line of fire :)
Thank you for your feedback Joozey! Delvers folley is wonderful. It took me multiple (satisfying) attempts to unlock the secret of suspicious alcove. (I will be giving it a more complete review after my game is more complete!)
I'll wait for it to come together. Right now it's a spacebar simulator. What's that barking sound between ready and fire?
Hi jaogwal,
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback!
The idea behind the bark and clown horn is that they are distraction sounds or false flags that would throw the player off of the true "Fire".
In its final form, the player wins when drawing faster than their (PC) opponent 5 times in a row (coming soon!)
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the sfx, if in its current form, its more off-putting than silly (silly is the intention)
Btw, I played an earlier build of insect zoom when it was passworded and it was lovely! Once I've completed my project I'm excited to play your latest and give feedback. Thanks again!
More than silly or off-putting, I found it confusing. Maybe some form of clicks and rubs that sound more like drawing and cocking a gun like the opponent is cheating and getting ready to shoot before the signal? Or some... old western sounds like horses neighing or wagon wheels squeaks? Rooster crowing? Church bell ringing? Gun firing in the distance? Anything that doesn't break suspension of disbelief rather than going for silly, I'd suggest.
That makes a lot of sense to make the sound effects more related to the environment. From your feedback I'm understanding now that they should have been more congruent. While I don't plan on adding more sound effects to this game, I will take this advice for the sound design of future projects. Your examples really illustrated your feedback well. Thank you Jaogwal!
The game is in a very early state. Reflex mechanic, interesting premise, but the game is not functional yet ^^!
Thank you for checking out my game, Korgen! I'm glad to hear you find the premise interesting.
I plan on updating it into a functional minigame within the next couple weeks, stay tuned! 🙂

Hey Berenike! Thank you for checking out my submission 🙂 I do have a couple updates to make, mainly indication if you've won or lost the game.
If you'd like to play it in its current state the password is kirby
