Hey everyone,

I’m looking to put together a small team to build a free Five Nights at Freddy's fan game. This is an unpaid passion project for building portfolios, gaining game dev experience, and making something genuinely creepy.

The Game: I am keeping the exact setting and lore under wraps to prevent the idea from being copied

The Mechanics: There are no doors and no power limits. Survival is purely based on spatial awareness  active defense mechanics against 4 distinct enemies.

The Progression: I have the gameplay loop and difficulty curve fully mapped out across 6 nights, scaling up from a slow burn on Night 1 to 100% crazy by Night 6.

Engine: We'll be using [Unity / Godot].

What I'm doing: I am the Game Designer and Project Lead. I have the core mechanics, enemy behaviors, and difficulty scaling already figured out in a private Game Design Document. My job is to manage the project, keep things organized using Google Docs, and work with the team to bring this vision to life.

Roles needed:

-Programmer: To build the core loop, camera system, and code the enemy AI.

-3D Modeler: To design/model the 4 enemies and the environment.

-Animator: To rig the models and animate jumpscares/movement.

-Sound Designer: To make creepy ambient audio, specific sound cues, and jumpscares.

-2D Artist: For UI, menus, and any in-game 2D art.

Details:

-We'll use a dedicated Discord group for all our communication and Google Docs to track our progress and share design notes.

-Low stress, work-at-your-own-pace environment. Beginners and students are totally welcome!

Yo, I've sent a discord friend request (justaclonewarsfan). I'm decently experienced with Godot/GDScript and have messed around with C# a bit. Can do placeholder art/models, familiar with using Blender for 3d models/animations and Aseprite for sprites, but I'm not very good.

Hey,

This sounds interesting both as a programmer and a FNAF fan. I have experience with Unity, as well as Godot, although I’m more comfortable with Unity overall. Seeing as you have the gameplay loop already fleshed out, it shouldn’t be difficult to bring your game to life.

I can only really contribute to the programming side though, any of the art and sound design would have to be someone else.

I have added you on discord!

Hi, I am a 3D artist, graduated in games wanting to build my portfolio even more.

I'm interested in helping in any way I can.

I'm no expert but I would say I have some experience modeling and texturing.

Sadly can't say the same about characters and rigging.

Okay what's your discord?

My discord is sacado

Hello, I am an audio engineer and composer, and creating creepy audio sounds like fun! I am fairly competent in music and sound design but very new to sound middleware like fmod and wwise. If that's good enough I'd be happy to help. Discord is nekub.

Hey! I've got experience with music production and mixing. I do have experience with sound design in that i've spent years learning my tools and experimenting, but most of it has been for music and im currently learning more game oriented sound design. I'd be happy to help in any way I can!

I've sent you a request

If you're looking for more help with the characters/graphics pipeline. I sent a request ncc2000. I've been working with Blender and Unity for a few years, and I'm good at learning new things quickly. Would love to gain experience collaborating on a project.

Edit: Also, rigging, weight painting, and animation. Slow, but i can hack it.
