Wish to play it, but unfortunately, an issue where the weekly actions do not show up made it largely unplayable. I'm playing on Chrome OS so maybe it might just be a compatability issue?
Great game, but I have encountered some issues, and I also have some suggestions for expanded features.
Issues:
The AI text input doesn't seem to know what the states of Iowa or Washington are. For example, in one instance, I typed "rally in Iowa," but the AI started talking about Indiana. Wyoming is Indiana too, apparently.
Almost everything my character says at rallies or debates causes the same generic response about it affecting different parts of the room in different ways.
Suggestions:
More policy areas:
Transportation (Amtrak, TSA, airlines, etc)
Crime (currently, opponents can run "tough on crime" ads, but you can't actually take a stance on crime yourself)
Drugs
Ability to respond to those scandal pop-ups
Ability to choose a background where your character was:
Pretty Good! I felt the UI was pretty interactive - though I felt like I didn't really understand what things I could do to improve my chances of winning aside from running ads and targeting.
The UI was clean and responsive - it felt well polished.
Definitely something I will find myself playing again.
No major issues - Though I didn't understand what the articles on the right were and what to do with them. This could be because I didn't pay any attention to the tutorial, LOL.
Final note: I recommend having the background with just background chatter. After each turn you could add crowd related sound effects, too - that'd be nice.
is it borken right now? i actually dont know what to do or do anything? i can target the a state....not ssure what that does? is there a time running? any explanations on what things do?
This was a neat little game. I would like to see the scope expanded to include neighbouring nations. Additionally, I did think the music was a tad repetitive.
I quite enjoyed it and look forward to seeing where this goes. Super repayable, nice job.
Thanks for the feedback, I have thought about neighbouring nations, but obviously that would be a massive task considering the US alone is 25,000 lines of HTML, so I've been wondering what countries would people want, so I don't mess it up and waste time on something people don't want.
I don't think any country has a system that works like the US, so expanding into another country will likely be a big commitment. But if you do, you could give Australia, the UK, or one of the UK's constituent countries a try (I'd enjoy seeing that). Another suggestion could be trying individual US state elections.

If you are using the AI mode then you have to scroll down to see the chat box in which you tell it what to do.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll get some of these improved in the next weekly update

Well, it is in fact a very niched game. But is seems very well put together!
1. Imo, the music should be almost an environment, something closer to the sims (when in the neighborhood view);
2. That all in tutorial at first is a bit overwhelming.
Overall, nice job on this.

Why does the window get wider if I choose traditional conservative?
The music is a little repetitive. I think a more ambient track along with different music for different situations may help.
The UI is good.
