A very good use of the limitation! A very simple and fun game I enjoyed playing this one.

Thanks for the feedback.

Cute game ! Good implementation of the limitation. I don't know if it's intended but you can just spam reload whilst shooting to never run out of bullets.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, no you are not suposed to reload while shooting, i will try to fix that.

I really loved the concept of the hat! One thing I did notice is that the zombies were spawning sometimes right next to the player which was a bit frustrating, could be better to put in safeguards to spawn them all off screen? Overall I had an enjoyable time playing this!

Developer

I did not have time to implement that, but certainly will after the game jam, keep following for updates.

When the player froze while trying to escape, I could really feel how bad the situation was.
The pacing of shooting down zombies felt just right, and I really enjoyed the Western vibe. Thank you!

Dude I love playing your game, it’s great to read your feedback, thank you.

OMG MY EYES! Leaving the red screen with a back arrow was not a good idea xDDD
I loved the little hat! Was it blinking or was it just me? Did I even blink once for fear of getting eaten by the zombies? idk. Give it up for that BeepBox and SFXR!!! Great use of the music loop as well. Maybe add some visible borders so that the player doesn't hit an invisible wall and gets swarmed by zombies? I'm not saying that it happened to me three times, but it could happen to anyone... <3

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, I will make some major fix and updates later after the jam, keep following.

That was fun! The concept of constantly getting random modifiers was interesting, and the character (and hat!) sprites were dripping with personality.

The hat turned out to be too powerful though, since I eventually killed every zombie in the west and was left standing in the empty desert talking to my magic hat (a fate that has befallen many a cowboy).

Thanks for the feedback man, I’m not an artist but I have fun make the art for the game, and the music too.

(The hat was supposed to talk to the player, but I couldn’t make it work só for the sake of the jam, this feature will be left out, maybe in a future update we will have this working.)

I think this is mechanic of a hat giving you buffs or debuff is such a unique idea actually. Like you can expand it to many more options. The artwork is a little too small but it works when you see tons of dudes on the field so I'd increase the enemies like crazy! Overall super interesting. I think it's the type of mechanic that has legs for much longer game too.

Developer(+1)

thanks for the feedback, i’m already planning to expand, rework the art and many more, if you want to see this projects come true, just follow me.

Really simple and fun game! Would be great if the debuff could be alerted to the player before coming so he can prepare himself for it;

 Regardless, a fun concept!

Developer

i did inteend to implement something like that but could not make work, so i upload the game as it is, thanks for the rating.

This definitely works as a game, and having a random buff/debuff applied most of the time keeps you on your toes and forces you to approach the zombie situation carefully and with at least a little foresight and risk management, so you don’t end up frozen in place and dead :3

A few thoughts:

  • I don’t feel like the music being spatial audio works that well here
  • The game ran out of zombies~
  • it is the worst hat! :D keeps freezing me at inopportune times

It’s got some good core parts of a specific kind of game; enemies that will eventually overwhelm you. I think if more zombies appeared quicker over time, the hat would become really annoying (in a good way) when it slows you or freezes you - but for now, I just run out of zombies >w<

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, I will certainly keep working on this game,  I really enjoyed work within the limitation, I'm planning somethings to add and polish, keep the game on collection and and follow for updates.
