Cool idea for a game, and impressive that you did it all yourself! I had some trouble with the controls - it felt oddly precise sometimes to try and replace a battery, for instance. Curious to see more if you iterate on this idea
Thanks for the comment. It can be a bit fiddly at times, because both the component and the slot have a collider, and they really shouldn’t overlap.
Very cool idea, definitely has a lot of potential for a full game with more different wand models! The combination of anime portraits and theme with realistic graphics made for a pretty interesting contrast.
I liked the way the start menu was revealed to be the laptop. I noticed some minor z-order issues in the UI, with the graph output from "Test Core" overlapping the "List Programs" dialog box, but overall the UI seemed really nice and polished. The addition of AI chatbot seems a bit unnecessary, and didn't seem to work properly anyway.
Occasionally, it felt like the wand would "glitch out" and it became really hard to put elements back in after taking them out. Also, on my second time trying out the demo, the cable that should appear after taking off the cover refused to appear and I couldn't do anything. The anime figure easter egg was pretty funny, but I think it might be skirting the rules of the gamejam a bit?
Regardless, very nice and polished demo!
Thanks for the comment. Yes, the graph was very problematic to render and the current solution isn’t good. It’s a 3D object and therefore lies on top of the canvas.
I’m also very annoyed that the AI bot is broken in the release. I wouldn’t say it was unnecessary, though. You could have learned quite a bit more about the staff through it.
I need to check the bug with the cable; I suspect it’s something to do with the event system.
Played the game. I liked music and graphics. However game feels in quite early stage. I like that you got tutorial, but wish tutorial would go to first repair. I found lens that was somewhat dirty, but could not find way to clean it. Clicked around, found new lens in boxes, did some tests and completed order. Game didn't give feedback from, finished order so i tried chat function. It didn't go well game just duplicated my messages and after i spammed enter it went out of screen. So after I tried to see if there are more orders, i just went and clicked complete order on other orders.
I feel like if you add core mechanics of economy the game will feel way more finished. But visually game looks good.
Nice Job
Thanks for the Comment. Early Staged is good. Towards the end, I was under so much time pressure to even implement a game loop. And the victory condition is completely missing. But that’s not something that can be added quickly.
I originally wanted to develop the economy aspect more, but since it’s my first game of this type and I didn’t know where to focus, that didn’t happen.
The lenses can be inserted into the white part next to the charging station. It only occurred to me afterwards that not everyone is familiar with ultrasonic cleaners, and they don’t necessarily look like in the game. The UI bug is due to the AI chat not working in the release.
Very creative game!
I thought it was trying to hack my pc after I clicked discord login.
The portraits are pretty nice.
Sorry. I described it in detail on the Itch.io page. If you download it directly from the Jam website, you don’t see the hint. That’s a bit of a silly design.
