Oh my god, after 2 hours I finally managed to finish it. This is really a great game, the hook mechanic is very fun to mess around with, the wall jump is fun to pull off, level 2 and 3 were great fun, the art is really cute and the soundtrack is great. The player controls are a bit imprecise though, I feel like it takes a bit too long to accelerate and especially change directions (the acceleration should be higher if you're switching sides). The jump goes quite high and you rise very fast, and the gravity acceleration is also very high and there seems to be no maximum fall speed, so it's hard to control the height of your jump and land precisely. I also think having to click the hooks is very difficult when you're moving, I think it'd be better to just have a button to use the nearest hook if you're close enough instead of having to use the mouse (or maybe clicking should use the closest hook to the mouse so you can still aim at the right hook). My biggest problem was the first level though. It was by far the hardest level, and more because it felt unfair and inconsistent rather than difficult. Especially the portion with the falling tumbleweed followed by the sequence of hooks with the vulture occasionally flying over, every time I got there the vulture/tumbleweed were positioned slightly differently, and aiming at the hooks while avoiding the vulture was incredibly hard. The level design greatly improved for the next two levels though, I had a lot of fun on those! One thing I think would also make things a lot better would be having some checkpoints. I understand the difficulty is meant to be a part of it, but it also got a bit too frustrating at parts, and I think it'd be nice if the first two levels were split in half with a checkpoint in the middle, as at some point I was already used to the first half and it was just boring doing it all over again every time. Overall, I still had a lot of fun and the last two levels were really nice, and with small adjustments to the levels and player physics and a more consistent difficulty curve it'd be an even better experience. Great game! (and sorry for the wall of text hehe..)
Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to finish the game and write such detailed feedback! And don’t apologize for the length haha, detailed comments like this are the ones that help me improve the game the most. I’m really glad you enjoyed the hook mechanic, the later levels (you might actually be the first person to reach them haha), the art, and the soundtrack.
You also made a lot of great points about the controls. I’ll take a closer look at the acceleration when switching directions. Regarding the gravity, I was actually unsure about it myself. To be honest, it also felt a bit fast to me, but I kept it that way just in case. I’ll definitely make some adjustments to the vulture and the gravity to improve the first level.
And thank you again for finishing the game as it is and for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback!
Love everything about this, all elements are super polished. Aesthetic is great! Banger soundtrack :D
I unfortunately couldn't get past the first level but that is a skill issue ha
Was fun playing and getting the hang of the gameplay and the pacing, game is well thought out and just the right balance of fun and rage ha, good stuff!
Thank you for playing and for the compliments! I made some changes after receiving some suggestions, so it’s really nice to hear someone say the game feels polished after the update. It makes me think it may have improved. Thanks for the feedback!
Hey guys, after receiving so many suggestions, I made some updates.
- Added coyote jump
- Reduced the pull speed of the hook.
- Made small adjustments to some platforms.
- Added one more thank-you cutscene.
Thank you for your feedback! Please keep helping me improve the game.
Very cute aesthetic, I feel like some elements felt like I couldn't tell the difference between rage mechanics or just bugs (like the walljumping and the spinning platforms), and yeah the game was too hard for me I could not pass the first level, I locked in for a moment and then fell in the void in the grappling section.
Thank you for your feedback. I made some adjustments, and if you could try it again and tell me what you think now, I would really appreciate it.
Amazing art and very cool to have cutscene for a game jam ! The soundtrack is very good too. I don't know if it is the intention but to me (not very skilled in platformers) the gameplay feels too hard (Could not finish the first level). It was still fun to tryhard but I think it leans toward the side of frustration instead of healthy difficulty.
Some feedback that I would have to fix it :
- The obstacles are too clumped together for a first level, you have to juggle between different new threats while still understanding them and the basic mechanics.
- There should be some calm part after hard ones, landing a hard jump just to get hit by an ennemy that appeared on the right of your screen is exasperating.
- I don't think having to do precision mouse click with a sidescroller is a good idea, it is hard to track objects while the camera moves and you manage the jumps. It would have been better to have a fixed camera with levels or even having the button grab automatically the closest hook in the view.
Quick note, I think the parallax backgrounds are supposed to move with the camera not the play ;)
Thank you for the detailed feedback and for playing! I'm really glad you liked the art, soundtrack, and the cutscenes. Our team worked really hard on those during the jam.
And yes, the game was intentionally designed to be quite difficult, but I agree that some parts may lean more toward frustration than fair challenge, especially in the first level. Your points about obstacle pacing and giving the player calmer moments between harder sections make a lot of sense.
The grappling hook control is also something I’ve been thinking about improving, and your suggestions are really helpful. Since this was my first time making a platformer with this kind of mechanic, there are definitely things I’d refine with more time.
Also thanks for pointing out the parallax background issue, that’s a good catch!
I don't have a mouse ):
Sorry about that haha, I’ll make sure to include an alternative in the future.
WOW the art is so fucking good, the game is really polished and feels like a finished product. game did make me want to kill myself, tho i guess that was the intention.
Thank you! I'm really glad you liked the art and polish. And yeah, the frustration was kind of the intention haha. Thanks for playing!
Man, what a hard game 😄 I didn't even finished the first level. But arts and soundtracks are really cool !
Thank you, even I struggled a bit with that damn vulture while I was testing.

The art style is top notch, and the backstory was a really great addition. Love these. Some coyote time would be great since platforms feel more unfair that rage-inducing. The area grab for the hook was really generous with is activation area. Neat.
Thank you. Since it’s my first time programming a platformer game, I ended up not adding some mechanics due to lack of knowledge, even though I kind of knew about them subconsciously. But thank you for the suggestion.
the cutscene art and music are good, not many people make cutscenes in these short jams. I like it
Thank you. We almost couldn’t finish because of the cutscenes, but in the end, it was worth it.
The grappling hook really adds an interesting gameplay element !
Thanks.
I liked the art style; however, I found the controls to be a bit unresponsive, and the grappling hook is a really cool mechanic. However, I think it does need some fine-tuning.
Thank you for the feedback and for playing! I’m glad you liked the art style and the grappling hook mechanic. The controls are definitely something I want to improve and fine-tune more in the future, especially with the suggestions I received.
i really loved your artstyle
Thank you! I'm really glad you liked the art style. Our artist did a great job.
Well done, I have never been good at precision platforming but works well!
Me neither, but sometimes I like to get a little frustrated. Thanks for the compliment!
I think i died over a 100 times 😭 Truly a rage game at its finest. Also the art was really amazing !
Haha, then the game did its job! Thanks for playing and for the compliment about the art.
The game is GORGEOUS!! The art and animation is so so so well done here!! My only issue is with the platforming mechanics. I do agree with the comments about a coyote jump. The platforming is very difficult.
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked the art and animation, our artist did an amazing job. And yes, I agree about the platforming mechanics and the coyote jump suggestion. It's something I’ll definitely consider improving in the future. Thanks a lot for playing and for the feedback!
The game is really great :D but i suggest to change the way to pull the character. It would be better if you could add collision box to the hook so you don't have to click on it by yourself but he will check if character collide with it and then pull the character up by pressing mouse. Anyway the graphics are peak!
Thank you for the suggestion. That’s actually a really good improvement for the hook. I hadn’t thought about it that way when I was making it.
The game art and music are amazing.
But as other have said, the platforming movement was very hard, lacking of an coyote jump make the game hard, the hooking on the parrot are very fast, could make past a few parts of the level just by the dificult in controlling the character.
I’ll give some attention to possible improvements in the movement so the game stays challenging because of the level design, but thank you for the compliment. We really do have great artists on the team.
The game art and music are a delight! Enjoyed the cutscenes and the background of the character! Just a problem:
The problem is found not on the level design, but rather on the physics of the game and player movement feedback: things are 8 or 800 with no in between, making the game wayy harder, not by design, but by the lack of control.
Regardless, i liked! It's fun to swing on the parrots and launch yourself around! The concepts are strong!
I understand. The game's focus was really meant to be challenging because of the level design, not because of the character controls. Thank you for the feedback and for playing.
