Description
Background music for a factory area of a video game, inspired by jrpg soundtracks
How did you Innovate? (Complete later if you need to submit on time)
I wrote my composition in 5/4 and repeated the same mechanical "crushing" sound for the entire piece, like machinery in a factory. I also used various factory-like noises throughout.

Bruh I was hoping it transitions into some dnb/jungle fiesta after 1:12 :(. Still sounds very good, fits the theme given perfectly, mix is on point as well. Verygj.
Great sounds right out of the gate.
I love that you blended the machine sounds in with the music. The composition also mixes well with this.
The mix is also excellent.
The 5/4 also serves the purpose of making it sound more mechanical in its own way too.
This is just fabulous. Well done.
Giving me a lot of ff13 feels, apart from the little person behind the mask figures
Really good stuff, maybe the sfx overpowered the music a bit at times, but other than that can't really say more
Good work!
Awesome arrangement, lots of very cool small bends and key changes. The main feeling i got, is all the transitions that you put expecting to go somewhere I though you would, I really thought at some point you would just go full drum and bass but you never did. It is repetitive, yes at some point we feel it but also for a video game lets say an exploration map or something, that would work marvelously. Very well mixed. I think you should add a layer of drum and bass somewhere, that would give some intensity and change of pace, I just feel it ! Great job ! Also awesome job working with MIDI in Reaper, I could never get used to the workflow.
I love the hyper-technology route you went with it, you did a great job instrumentalizing that aspect! I love the light key changes that I think you could've gone even bigger with it at the end! Really well done overall, I would love to hear more of your stuff in the future.
thanks for the feedback, glad you liked it!

Good vibes you got in this one! I like the repeated machinery sounds, they add a lot. However, I was waiting the whole time for that clash or big moment but it never came. So it sort of just was the same thing the whole time. Consider changing it up halfway through maybe and making the melody move in different directions. Overall, great sound track here though!
I reallly dig this, very repetitive but enjoyable in the way many really great jrpg menu or area themes are - they don't draw attention to themselves too much but set the mood and tone very well, or sneak up on you with a great leitmotif that wanna go back to listen to afterwards. This does exactly that!
My only complaint is the limited audio range - I swear you're cutting or muting high and low frequencies in a way that's making the elements lets forceful, but with all the clunking and clattering I really wanna hear that metal CLANG!
If I had to draw a comparison, I feel like you pulled this right out a Yugioh Tag Force or DS World Championship game - the resemblence is uncanny and I adore this variety of music, so I might be biased. They were made in the late 2000s and had composers from the DDR game series', so they were heavy on trance and house. If you're not aware of them, maybe they'll serve as a good reference for you in future submissions cuz I'd love to hear more!
I would enjoy working with you on a future jam so I could learn more about your music-making process, if that's something you'd be interested in.
Thank you for all the feedback, glad you enjoyed it overall! Also i would really like to work with you on a future jam! I think I would probably be learning more from you lol. I sent you a friend request on discord if you want to keep in touch
The idea to incorporate the industrial sounds and “percussions” is a nice touch and works certainly well. Specially with the non-symmetrical feel of 5/4 it gives it some heft. Also, the choice of genre is quite refreshing and could work quite well for a racing game or something in that mountain factory. However while listening to it it felt more like it really wanted to go further and beyond with its tension but sadly never got the chance to really burst out and go full on, which would have been awesome for the style of song. There are also multiple parts that feel like they would lead to a climax but feel like they are stitched to the next part. Personally mix wise this feel quite clean but a bit other processed with EQ settings being quite narrow for each element and overly compressed. I knot that it is part of the genre but it would have been nice if the elements would have gotten some more room to breath and feel a bit livelier. None the less this is a cool unique entry.
Thank you for the constructive criticism! I'm somewhat new to producing so this is helpful to know
I love all the textures my dude! The song is mostly the same throughout, but it's got enough variety and different textures so that it all meshes really well and doesn't get boring at all, and it's just overall a very nice listen! Good job man!
