Had a lot of fun playing this once I figured out the mechanics. It fit the theme well to have your choices influence the upgrade and the enemy makeup.

Some things I would focus on: the combat felt a bit repetitive to me, like there was only one way to play the game. Perhaps with more distinction in the upgrades it could have more variety. Also, it got a bit choppy when the number of enemies increased.

Good job!

This was fun and I loved the hand drawn artwork! I personally don't love auto attacking but I can understand that at the end of the day that can be more personal preference than anything else.

My biggest issue is simply just not understanding the differences in the choices, I never really saw any outcomes from who I would choose to save, unless I was simply doing something wrong it always seemed to have no impact. Was it the amount of points you get to upgrade? Was it the zombie enemies? I really had no idea what that changed so making that a bit more clear could've helped out.

I did enjoy this game though and it was definitely a fun time.

Good idea in principle but this could have been much better. With the auto attacking and slow firing speed I didn't have much control over the combat and could only move and aim. The random upgrades are maybe too random, eventually I got "Grenades lvl 1" which was the only useful upgrade but without any control they weren't that useful. The mouse could also set a throwing distance instead of only a direction.

The two choices after each round were sometimes identical and I have no idea what they really impact. What I don't pick turns into zombies, so what? What type of enemy is what type of civilian? Maybe I missed visual hints for that. Some had some kind of blue ring which was some kind of shield I think.

Basically more control over the combat and more explanations would have made this much better. There is a solid foundation.

At the start it took a while for zombies to appear and I though the game was just broken. There were several lag spikes when it loaded assets like music.

We both went for a survivor like "defend the villagers" type of game.

Great idea!

I first need to realize that "holding left" meant actually pressing A or Left Arrow...not Mouse. I thought the game was broken at first :D

The shooting works, but the initial spawn time of the zombies is a bit too long I guess. The art style feels like being a prototype. The worlds look kinda empty, but the characters look really great! Especially the title and defeated scene look very nice. Would be good if there was some more consistency in the art style used and I recommend using a certain color palette for things, as well as using certain sizes for text in the UI. The music is fine, just like SFX, but I guess they do not fit together that well.

Still overall a good entry to the jam!

Really cool game! Shooting zombies felt satisfying, and it's a good spin on the theme. Choosing which group would be easier to fight or give more upgrades made for interesting moments. I do believe the difficulty curve could be improved a little, maybe by adding more extreme upgrades. Really embracing that survivors-like gameplay could make this an even more solid game! All in all, great work!

Took me a moment to realize that the ones I don't save turn into different Zombies! That is a great idea! I wish the artstyle communicated that to the player a bit more clearly tho! I still don't know what Zombie the Hooligans were xD

This is a great idea! I love the tactical element of deciding which group of people to save. The different types of zombies are excellent, and I really enjoyed the overall experience.

That was really fun. I liked the tactical element of picking which type of people to save. It would be good to get an idea of what saving each type of person would do as you choose it. Good job. I got stuck on about the 5th level, it said 1 zombie left to kill, but there were no more zombies left.

I felt the gameplay was a bit slow in the beginning. It felt like vampire survivors, but without getting more weapons and upgrades all the time. I think if you would either make shooting more fun / add more movement options (like a dash) or add more passive weapons to go more into Vampire Survivors that would be cool!

Wish you the best!

Pretty fun! At first I thought that this is gonna be a pretty standard top down shooter, but you made it work. First of all- I like how you could buy upgrades depending on people you save. I ended up looking for specific occupations in groups of survivors, which was a nice touch. Secondly- the intensity ramps up fast! I thought the game was a bit slow at the start, but soon all those upgrades are put to the test! Gotta say- the gameplay is pretty fun!

The graphics could be better. They are readable enough, that I always knew what was happening, but some better character art, and a bit variety in the environment (maybe a street and a sidewalk instead of the same ground everywhere, a car wreck, or some bushes) would benefit the game.

The sound is ok, but like with the graphics could be improved. Some background music is always nice and works wonders for atmosphere!

I liked what you did with the theme. As I said- I took who to save into consideration each round!

Over all- good, intense game! Keep it up!
