Really good visuals and sound effects, I really liked the guy in the tutorial conversation. I was a bit thrown off by the instant deceleration at first but the controls felt really sharp after I got used to it. The spike jumps at the end of the castle and some of the jumps in the tower felt maybe a bit too hard, and I also didn't like how fast the ghost follows you (he stunlocked me in my first attempt). Also how did you get the extraction times to save between plays? That's such a nice feature!

Thanks for your post! Basically I save the best time in a resource that is locally stored. I store it at the user:// path. You can check it out here: https://docs.godotengine.org/en/latest/tutorials/io/data_paths.html

Great visuals, the sfx are also really good! Controlling the character felt great. The fact that the level opens up when returning with the artifact was cool and the timed return reminded me of Pizza Tower. Great job overall, I liked it!

The art is beautiful and dashing around is way too much fun! I died couple of times on the spikes that are pretty close but once I did it it felt great! :)

Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you especially for the comment about the art! I think I have finally found a style I am comfortable with.

The pixel art is beautiful on this one! Really loved the clean visuals. The controls are pretty tight as well, I just think the hit box could be a bit more forgiving on the player as it was very easy to bump into platforms increasing the difficulty by a lot. The game is very hard, but I am also just not the best at platformers hahaha. Great job!

Yeah I had a fun time too! I kept dying lol but that's because of a skill issue. Otherwise enjoyed it and learned a bit for my next game jam from this

Developer

Hey thanks that’s awesome to here! Do you mind sharing what it is you’ve learned? Very interested to hear

That was fun! Those spikes for not too forgiving, but overall I think the difficulty is pretty right on. Very pretty game, well done!

This game is pretty cool. I love the clear tutorial, it's kinda lacking in most jam games. The art style is very charming, I like the thick solid lines the vibrant colours. The level changing once you get the artefact is also nice to add some variety once you return.

I think that the armoured enemies should wander in their place, I got forced to die cuz this one blocked my path.

The tower level was also pretty fun, and I laughed when a ghost popped up once you collected the artefact, that's pretty much the same idea I had in my game haha. Anyways, pretty fun.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind words, glad you had fun!

With armored enemies you mean the knights? They usually wander about randomly and should return turn the other way when they are near a ledge or a wall.

Btw enemies cannot hit you while you air dash, so there should be a way our in most scenarios.

I liked it a lot, music is nice, art is nice and the levels are quite hard!

I had to remember I could air dash in the middle of the level because I hadn't used it so far haha

Nicely done :)

Developer

Yeah if I had more time I would most likely want to extend the Tutorial to cover more stuff. Thank you for playing!

I know that bird from somewhere... irgenwie von so einer alten Kika sendung oder so? Music is hype and it never got boring, because the gameplay quickly shifts from time based to rage game platformer to getting chased by a ghost. Liked it.

I think it looks like the bird from the nuggets youtube video when he almost dies of Nuggets at the end

I couldn’t finish the last level but overall it’s really well made, nicely done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I got that feeback alot so will probably do some changes to the difficulty.

It’s a nice game! I think the third level is a little too difficult for me, but I like this Wario Land-style game. Congrats on the entry! :D

Developer

It’s difficult for me to balance stuff, of course it’s gonna be more easy for the dev. Didnt really have many ways to playtest with other people during the jam.

But thanks for your kind words!

It's an interesting game, I had fun in the first two levels, the last one was a little too difficult for me (I'm not good at this type of game, so it's fine).

As another review said, having to use Q and go left at the same time, sometimes makes it difficult to maintain control. But I imagine it was easier for those playing with a mouse.

The idea you used for the theme is good, and the changes in the level when returning make the experience more fun! 🚀

Developer

Thank you for the extended review! Maybe I didn’t properly communicate the multiple controls available. Will definetely push an update at some point.

I like the challenge, but the audio is way too annoying and the controls are... interesting. Dash on Q with areas where you have to dash towards the left is not optimal. Also the ability to jump on W as well would add a bit more intuitivity :)

Developer

Hey thanks for the feedback. The controls actually state that you can use left click to dash as well. Q is meant for when you use the arrow keys for movement

But thanks for the honesty

I see. Shift may be a more intuitive option for both choices :)
