This was quick and fun! I was expecting your choice in potion to affect the rating task - was this something you'd considered?

Developer

It's  interesting you say that, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Would you mind elaborating on what you mean by potion choice affecting task ratings?

Submitted

Maybe something like it affects your perception, e.g., intoxicates you so some of the question is obscured, or the response buttons switch around. The total time available is another factor that could be affected, maybe if you are intoxicated, you get extra time as a compensation. Just some ideas!

Developer

Ah okay, I get your meaning! I wanted to add something similar, but I'm not really that adept at coding, haha. Hopefully, I can continue to improve my skills. Thank you for your response! I appreciate it.

IM THE EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH! I liked the little game at the end where you discerned monster traits and human traits. That was fun!

Developer

Thanks Sanguine! Congrats on your achievement! >:)

I really like the silhouette to normal sprite transition, really changes the mood of the game from the title screen (though I think that paperwork is pretty scary).

Developer

Thanks Betty! I was trying to lean in on that.

Loved it, one of the best entries in this jam!!

Developer

Haha, appreciate it Aden!

Very interesting, i love the art. Fascinated by ominious intro mood and the structure that each potion has a different locked outcome - curious where you would have taken this. Also love 'shadow moves independently' as a monster trait. Hope you enjoyed pizza jammin'!

Developer

Thanks, ComputerJames. I'll have to think of some more interesting traits in the future. Appreciate your thoughts!

Nice game! Kind of reminded me of those "answer-100-questions-in-a-minute" quizzes. Just out of interest, what is the cold drink?

Developer (2 edits)

That's a good catch, Good K.  As for the cold drink, they were originally named COFFIN and COFFEE, but our shadowed boss here mixed them up under those missing office lights. But, I didn't have time to add the labels lol. I'll have to think of a more creative way to implement it in the future.

Submitted

had a nice wee time playing this, even tho I kept insisting that humans shadows move independently lol.

Developer

Haha, That's interesting! I'll have to think about adding something in relation to that. ;)

I’m the employee of the month! :D I liked the design, especially the doctorshe’s a bit unsettling, but it really pulls you in. The game was fun.

Thanks butterfly dreams! And welcome to the team!

Thanks elmagico!

Cool game! I kept spamming the wrong drink to annoy the person offering it lol. Pretty fun!

Developer

Thanks EasonIsCool! I wasn't sure to keep that feature in, so I'm glad you liked it.

Even if you didn't get to finish everything you wanted, there's a good base here. I hope you keep working on it!

Developer

Thanks Dr. Bean!

I always have to fight with the scope myself, it turned out pretty good thought still.

Appreciate it, Jintaco. Hopefully we can continue to learn and grow!

3D and 2D together? It always works. It would be nice to see it developed further after the jam! It's really nice! I really appreciate it.

Developer

I agree, haha. It's fun to combine them. And thanks for the encouragement, I'll look into exploring further updates!

Like the art a lot. The mix of 3d models and sprites works really well. I went back to see the other interactions and even forced some wrong answers just to see where it went lol. Also yeah, I definitely get the scope issue.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you NotTodayDio, I love combining the two mediums. For my next project, I know better to be a bit smarter now, haha.

Honestly really interesting take on the theme! Liked it’s straight forward simplicity

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you Decoded! That was the goal! :D

Loved the character designs and the cutscene when picking the wrong potion! The paper work minigame is maybe a bit simple  but works well for this format. Would love to see if you ever decide to further develop this game. Bonus points for the amazingly nonchalant win? screen. xP

Haha thanks Emmy! I'm getting a lot of these comments. I'll look into further development! Appreciate your words.

Really funny submission! I reallly like the opening cutscene. Hitting the Peter Griffin falling over pose is really quality haha. The game has a good sense of humour about it, and the art style supports the vibe well! Would love to know what you had in mind for more gameplay and what a finished game would look like.

Thanks Lunar-lo! I'm glad you caught the reference, haha. Ideally, I would have loved to polish the animations a bit more and implement more sound effects, more interesting menu screens, etc. But, I tried to settle for the minimum for the time limit. As for the game play, I thought about adding more traits to help to flesh out the story more. Something with more layers. I was aiming for something uncanny. I really appreciate your thoughts.

The animation when I chose the wrong drink was fun, I enjoyed the art. It was a fun game!

Developer

Thanks Kheto! I'm glad you like that choice!
