Masterclass bruh, even the camera movement some strange but masterclass, and the art style so pretty, pretty like the concept

How did you interpret the theme?
there's a town that you frequent yourself into to get townspeople to defend your home. you also go "all in" in defending your home

I really liked this game. I thought your art looked great! It reminded me of that old app with the cartoon stick figures and they defend a tower ( I can't remember the name). I love that you can hand your little dudes a house and lamp posts and they use that as weapons.
In regards to arts, I was prolly unconsciously inspired by that game you mentioned lol (but the whole game dev I was thinking doodle jump weirdly enough lol). The way you can equip everything, that's one of the silly aspect to it lol. I was even planning on making the UI draggable so you can equip it to your townsfolk but coding issues lol. I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Thank you <3
The art was my favorite part! Overall the gameplay is so impressive for a weekend game jam and it was FUN! Unique concept, not like any other game I've played during this jam.
Really unique concept and well executed for this 2 day jam! I love how free the placement is and I like the dragging weapons onto people. The vibes are fantastic and the gameplay is engaging.
Something this game lacks is difficulty. I haven't bought something in like 5+ waves and haven't lost a single health tick on any of my townspeople let alone my house. I got thousands in the bank with nothing to spend it on because there is very little ramp up of difficulty or ramp up of things to buy. I also wish I had some numbers to go off of for which weapon does damage. Like if damage numbers popped up when the bad guy gets hit or if I could hover over a character and see how much damage they will do with their current weapon.
Overall, a very unique game for this jam and a fantastic prototype. Great job with this one! This one is in my top 5 at least so far!
Really insightful feedback, thank you so much! That's one thing I've realized way too late in development too (around 4hrs left into the deadline) that I forgot to balance the game and ramp up the difficulty curve (I was too sleepy to even bother so I just submitted 3hrs before the deadline, it was around like 5AM on my time lol). The game is way too easy and enemy variety is so sparse as heck (was planning on adding ranged enemies, and others), and more weapons each with their own variety of special mode of attacks. I will keep in mind also about your damage numbers suggestion and townsmen info! Thank you so much for playing! I really love the constructive feedbacks you've been giving to game submission man <3
ok it works, this game is super fun i played all the way through, it feels very polished and lining up you army and building the town feel really good, the art style is also really good. Two of the bugs i come upon where that the mouse would flash transparent and visible and sometimes when holding something it wouldn't let me go to my home, i think the game would benefit from music and better sound fx but other than that this game is super fun great job.
p.s. did you know that you can give your people houses trees and lampposts as weapons :D
Excellent game! It’s a little hard to go from the town to the house and vice versa, but once you get the hang of it, the game becomes really addictive and a lot of fun!
the game play idea is good but i couldn't get the first wave to start so no enemies came but i like the feel of the game and the art style is grate, nice job :)
Great !! I like it a lot ! I just felt that the transition between the town and the place you defend should be a bit faster
I like the art style you are going. Everyone look like having fun time with game but for me window size is inconsistence, control is a bit clunky so hard to pick up things. Mouse cursor is glitching between arrow and hand.
I see, a bit sad you didn't get to have the full experience due to glitches and having a hard time with the click and drag controls implemented in the game :(
Thank you for complimenting the artstyle though! A byproduct of me thinking a doodle might be the quickest I could get away with when making a game in under just 24 hours (turns out it fits the vibe really well, reminds me of the kindergarten times where I just do defense type of pencil and paper games with my classmates)
I do wonder if playing the executable might fix some of your issues. (probably not the clunky controls tho lol)
I love the doodle artstyle. Nice QoL with the ability to click a button and collect all the coins, especially as the coin drops increase so much as you progress through the waves. Really satisfying to amass a little army of doodle people and hand them their own implements of destruction
Only bug I noticed was that if you try to arm a bunch of new doodles on the shop side, it isn't possible to go back and forth dragging them over without having to repurchase weapons for them. But it wasn't a big deal because coins are plentiful!
Creative mechanics. This was fun!
Thank you so much! That bug is a byproduct of my laziness by the way lol. I'm glad you're enjoying the game, I had fun making it and testing it too lol, that QoL too is just a very nice much needed addition imo, and I only noticed it after suffering in the later levels lmao (dude realized drag and dropping isn't really fun when you have to do it to over 30 COINS)
This is so creative! It has amazing potential as a strategy game. And it's impressively polished for the short amount of time you made it in. Great job!
