This games has an intriguing premise,  minor gods turned mortal by magic and hunted by their mortal children. Though I'm not sure I fully get what larger statement the game is trying to say (as a parent, I'm not sure how this game wants me to view the relationship between parents and children), the mechanics seem very effective at making its story feel real.

Like others have said, I think there's an interesting concept here that needs some polishing.  I like the idea that the gods have a limited pool of miracles they can perform.  I think that helps sell the fiction that the characters used to be all powerful while increasing the tension after they've used one or two and suddenly their safety net doesn't look so safe.  I also like using 1s to whittle away at followers especially because there are a bunch of trust uses.

To help diversify the gods, perhaps consider giving them more playstyle variance. Off the top of my head:

  • perhaps Ave starts with more trust because of his long reputation of staying the same
  • Mar could have 4 miracles to spend but less trust
  • Ryl could have 4 key words to add to stats

I think you definitely have a decent base here,  but rewriting the document flow to communicate the key details needed to play and for readability would go a long way to making this a playable game.  Good job getting it submitted in time and good luck getting it finished.

This is so helpful! I love the idea of diversifying the Once Gods more and will definitely be keeping in mind the ideas you offered. I'm glad to keep hearing that the premise/initial concept is working. I was worried the 1s and breaking down trust wasn't going to be of interest-  I'll keep that in as the primary form of "damage" for the time being. A more clear flow, including gameplay examples, and focusing on readability broadly are the top of my list to work on.

Obviously still in development, but I love what you have! It's a great premise, and I'd love to see it in action.

Thank you! I'm thinking about asking some friends to record a few examples of actual play once I clean up the way the action is supposed to flow. I'm glad the premise has been getting positive feedback :))

Love the setting and theme. It made me think a little of Agon but with a big twist.

I can see this is still in draft and has work to be done, but just wanted to say I would love to play this and will watch its development.

Thank you! I hope the next version(s) will be of interest :))

Love the premise! I get a bit lost in the instructional text, especially when it comes to moment-to-moment play. The text could benefit from some restructuring or pacing, and (especially) some game play examples — it's sort of low-hanging fruit but would do a ton to make v1.1 feel more digestible.

Gameplay examples are top of my list to add in the next version! Glad to hear I'm not too far off on what it'll benefit from. Thank you!
