Cool idea! I think one thing this could benefit from would be different enemy types, as well as making everything just a tad faster, but this wasn't bad at all!
Absolutely right! I was working on the code and art solo so I didn't have time to do a lot. Post jam though I have other plans :)
Nice Concept and idea, game is really enjoyable but i got some problem.
I got the problem when i started the Game, my monitor screen resolution is low, so when i launched the game UI items got hidden in right, all buttons like start, arena etc. i am not able to start the game. For this i am also a Godot game developer so, i highly recommend that you Use canavas_items in the Stretch mode in Project Settings, that will fix this problem.
After that i little bit struggled how to start the game but after it, game was too good.
THANK YOU! I faced that issue and was going to look into how I can fix it but then ran out of time and forgot about it xD
Really unique, love the multiplayer system too, and the hands are a nice if unsettling touch. Good job!
Thanks! I had more plans for the hands but ran out of time sadly :(( I'm going to continue working on the game post jam. Maybe come back once in a while to checkout the new stuff!
Cool concept, congrats <3
Thanks!
It reminded me a lot of "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon," and I'm sorry I couldn't try this game with a friend because the multiplayer also looks really fun. ^^
The only criticism I have is the lack of feedback on whether you hit an enemy or not; it's not always very clear.
Thank you! There's an sfx and a small animation but you're right. I should make it more clear. I'm already working on changes and I'll add that to the list.
I liked it! I had trouble using the spear as i'd throw it, it'd go over the lil bug guys, and i'd have to lead them to a more open area to go around them, but I used the greatsword and it was fun. If I had played it with friends it probably would've been way better, but the singleplayer was fun too! Good job!
Thank you! The spear is supposed to be a little harder to use (very thin and small hitbox, the throw...) but has more damage than other weapons and longer range. You also get cool effects with runes compared to other weapons.
really neat game! would like to see more from this in the future, i dont understand why the spear kept flying out of my hands, but it was kinda fun after i got used to it. i liked the combat and upgrades. solid game!
It's a weapon quirk. Each weapon has 3 hit combo. The last hit is a finisher. The spear finisher is a throw. You can not finish the combo and it will restart from the first hit after a while (to avoid throwing the spear) . With runes you get cool effects like:
- Lightning Finisher: you follow after it and release lightning.- Fire Finisher: you spawn fire circles all the way there .
This is a gif of both runes equipped.
i see, that makes sense and is very cool!
Thank you!
very very fun, would love to see this in the collection. The quality is great for a month long jam. Great work :)
Thanks alot. Your comment made my day!
I might have to pull this one out at the next LAN party. Really fun game which might be short, but definitely expandable upon! I like how each of the core weapons play completely different and can suit different playstyles. This seems really fun to do some multiplayer with, and to implement it as well as you did in the given time is impressive!
Thank you so much! I'm making some fixes and adding some new cool stuff. Hopefully they'll be implemented before your next time you play.
it was really fun, I liked playing it, it reminded me of botw
Thank you!
A cool concept and extremely ambitions for a game jam game! I liked the comedy of the hand and the player character a good deal. Definitely rough around the edges but with some work i could see this being a really cool game!
Thank you! Since it's a 1 month I thought I'd go all out. Thought I was going in with someone but they dipped so I had to do it solo. I plan to add some stuff and fixes so drop in from time to time!
Yooo dude super great game! Super fun story, and the fact that it is coop seems super cool even if I didn't do that. the attacking is a bit slow but it feels good after you get used to it. the only thing I was a bit sad about was that I had to click a key(E specifically) to attack, it would have been a bit easier if it was on my mouse. and the very end I could see the outer gray boarder godot has. But still fun game!
OH and I thought it was so cool that the player was holding the weapon they were using when talking!
Thank you! Glad you liked it. I don't remember setting the key to E? xD You can bind controls in the settings menu to anything you want. (does support controllers too). As for attack speed it is different for each weapon and weapon type.
That was a great experience! I only tried it solo for now, but it already feels like something that’ll be even more fun with a few people around (not my case... I'm so alone hhaha). The overall vibe and art style are fantastic there’s a kind of top-down, action-heavy feel that really works.
There’s something special about sharing the jam experience through a co-op game I really liked it, and this one is a great fit for that. I’d love if you also gave the one I submitted a try :)))
Thank you! I wanted to submit something I'd play for this jam and go through all the way. I love co-op games and roguelikes/lites. They're really fun. Sadly doing all that meant I had little time to add all the runes and other things I wanted to add. But I'm really happy with what I made so far
That was awesome! Only tried it alone, but I will play it with some guests later. Love the vibe and the art style. Felt kind of like a top-down Diablo.
Also very lovely to see other people also made local co-op focused games for the jam. I love a good local multiplayer game :)
Thank you! I think local co-op has been coming back this last year. It's more fun to play with friends. What ending did you get?
