I defeated the rogue AI. Shame about the item bug, but as you said, nothing seems to be required. Controls need some work, as I really felt the missing back step button. Strafing would be nice too. The systems were interesting and I liked the inventory system, with the max ram capacity. Graphics were smooth, but a little bit of variety would be nice. Sound was very fitting and the retro futurism theme was well met. Nice one!
