How does your game fit the theme?
All enemies spawn inside of the box, you can go outside of the box to visit the shop and buy upgrades and weapons. Whilst you shop, enemies continue spawning inside the box and faster than usual!

Lovely Game with a very creative concept, great job
Thanks for playing!
Really loved this one. Very enjoyable and creative use on the take. Found an exploit with the flamethrower that allowed me to hit the frozen enemies...until the boss spawned and I then got destroyed by a hundred enemies at once. It was funny. Did find however that the walls remain solid for the player after the boss spawns and the run resets, which left me unable to go to the shop on a new run. You have to actually exit the game to get it to work. Regardless though, fantastic game could not praise it enough.
I was sure I had fixed the boss walls remaining after a reset but perhaps I overlooked something. I'll be sure to fix these issues in the post jam update. Regardless, thanks for playing!
Really simple yet really addictive! Love the concept of the play area being so easily exitable, at the cost of a larger wave when you go back in. Being able to touch grass in a game is always a bonus, too!
Thanks for the kind words! I'm happy you enjoyed the game.
😀I love the game! I played it with my little brother and we had such a great time. I really like the art style and all the chaos😁
Thanks for playing and enjoying!
This game was super simple and fun! I really liked that the initial concept was built upon by the great art, many upgrade types, and many enemy types! I don't think this was intentional, but I did find it very easy to just shoot grenades from the very edge of the box and run back out before enemies could attack. That would be my only nitpick but well done overall!
Yeah you aren't the first to notice that cheese, I'll probably make it harder to do something like this in the post jam update. Thanks for playing!
It's a really decent game with a few issues. For example the timer should pause when you go outside the box I think, and the flamethrower can shoot throw which I don't think was intended lol. Other than that it's fun.
Yup that's on me for the flamethrower thing, I completely forgot to fix that. As for the timer suggestion, time actually speeds up when you leave the box, and the timer reacts appropriately to that. I do think I should have made it more obvious that time is sped up but that's for the post jam update. Thank you for playing!
Simple and fun! I would like an option/upgrade to hold down the mouse to fire continuously, but this works great as is. ^-^
There are guns like the Assault Rifle and Flamethrower that do automatically shoot, but I might make an upgrade based on your suggestion. Anyways, thanks for playing!
Wanted to say that your game looks really cool and fun to play! Sadly I can't rate it properly as I couldn't run it on my pc, as it crashes every time, sorry!
I'm sorry to hear that. If it's possible, are there any error messages or similar stuff that happen when you crash? I'd like to get this fixed for my post jam update.
It's probably not the problem of yours (sorry if it sounded like it is...), but the compatibility layer of wine/proton or how they work with unity. I am using Linux and Mac as the main systems, so I'm unable to run it properly. The error is "Unhandled exception: unimplemented function d3d11.dll.D3D11On12CreateDevice called in 64-bit code (0x006ffffffa2b40)."
As you said it isn't a direct issue with my game but with the compatibility layers. But this doesn't mean it isn't fixable, I just need to change some code and settings to get it working properly on those systems. So basically I should have it fixed for the post jam update, thank you for the reply!
Also quick suggestion if you do want to try the game out still (this also serves as a way to try out my fix), try running the game with "-force-d3d11"! So in steam it would be: Right-click game -> Properties -> Launch Options and then type in "-force-d3d11" without the quotation marks.
Yup, the -force-d3d11 option works! Nice game and awesome tech support :D
Btw, idk if it will work on windows but if I click esc in main menu, the main menu overwrites with the esc menu and I can get inside the game that didn't started yet, like no mobs and no shop.
It's awesome that it works now! That issue is an oversight on my end, I completely forgot to disable pausing when you aren't actually playing, so it's not just a linux/mac thing. Thanks a lot for the bug reports and replies. This was really helpful!
The game idea and visuals are great, i liked it.
Thank you for playing!
I liked this game, I think it was an original take on the classic top down shooter genre. I like the idea that enemies spawn over the time you are out of the box, so it adds a bit of chaos.
I unfortunately found a pretty easy cheese in this game where I got the rocket launcher and could camp out right by the shop and just fire my gun and poke back in. I think if you made it so the player had to be fully in the box to be recognized both by the enemies and to be able to shoot, that could potentially stop that cheese.
Overall I did enjoy this game
Thanks for the feedback! This is totally on me, I had a variable for this and everything but completely forgot to actually use it. I fixed this in my latest build of the game and I'll upload it as soon as I can. Anyhow, thanks for playing!
All good! I still really enjoyed the game and it was kind of silly because im not really good at top down shooters but it was funny because with this silly trick I found I did way better than I normally do so thats a funny plus side haha
Also I hope you all continue on this game because I really think it has potential for being a commercial game :)
This is a really neat idea. The concept is simple but memorable. It has a fun weirdness to it. I enjoyed the presentation a lot.
Thanks for playing!
It's a very fun Gameplay Loop which tight mechanics. Great Job!
Thanks for playing!
Umm I might be dense, but for the life of me, I could NOT figure out how to buy weapons. Still a great game but maybe tone the difficulty curve down just a little bit! Great Job and keep at it!
Yeah that's totally my fault, I was planning on adding a keybinds list in the game but totally forgot. So the only way to know all the buttons are through the itch page. A lot of other people also complained about the difficulty scaling, so I'll fix all of this the moment I get the chance to. Anyhow, thanks for playing!
Thanks for replying, this is a very creative game. Minor bug too. There is a small window in which you can shoot enemies when your partially in the box and they won't move. I'm not a coding expert, but i' m assuming that your creating the bullet in the gun(No problem with this) and that the box deletes bullets. You could probably just make a variable for this. Not a GAME breaking bug, just a little suggestion, thanks for replying to my thing!
Thanks for telling me about this. You're right about me creating the bullet in the gun, and I did have a variable for this issue but it seems like I didn't use it at all. Which again is my bad. Regardless, I'll upload the fixed game as soon as I can. Thank you for the reply and bug report!
unique premise and fun gameplay loop! only gripes are i wish you could hold on to more than 2 weapons, and difficulty scales little TOOO quickly
Thanks! That's my bad for the difficulty scaling, I'm used to bullet hell and top down shooters so I wasn't sure what was difficult and what wasn't. Not having anyone to play test other than myself didn't really help either. Regardless thanks for playing!
Super fun game needs an attack speed buff or to spawn enemies a little slower
Thanks for playing! I didn't have any play testers so I couldn't tell whether the enemy spawning speed was too much, thanks for the feedback though!
Game becomes impossible when the turrets spawn. Do you hate me?
Cool project! Amazing that is done by one person!
Thanks for the kind words! It seems a lot of other people also thought the difficulty scaling was too hard and that's on me for not having anyone to play test. But thanks for playing anyways!
this is an excellent concept that executed nicely to make it a fun indie game! along with the retro art and audio that fits the game's aesthetic very well, my honourable mention is the fact that when you are outside the box, you are safe from enemies but more spawn the more time u spend there.
Thank you for the kind words and thanks for playing!
The effects in this game were wonderful! I feel like the pitch was pretty good but could have done with more of a hook to get people to stop scrolling and check it out. Overall really solid though! Good job!
Thanks for checking the game out! You're right, I probably could have made the video more interesting at the start to hook people in properly. So thanks for the feedback!
Good game! I’m usually not a big fan of point-and-aim shooters without auto-fire, but this one was genuinely fun for a while. Love the game concept for the game jam theme, and the visuals, items, weapons, and map designs. The programming on the particle effects are cool, and I personally really like the dying sound effect too lmao. They all fit the game very well.
Thank you for the kind words! I'm happy people are enjoying the game.
