I don't belong to the target group. And probably more than clicking, I enjoyed exploring what combination of abilities would modify the colony's behavior and whether any would ensure its infinite growth, etc. But - I enjoyed it.
The game is also a perfect example (if you're going to hiccup on Monday/Tuesday nights in the next ten years, it's because I'm talking about it in class) of the fact that sometimes it's best to just throw away an existing idea and start over, differently, better and with a smaller scope. And suddenly the game is smaller, but fun, polished and juicy.
This is a really cute little toy. Not much of a game, as there is too little diversity in game levels and game play experience, but I like the sound and visual effects. I can really feel the fungal “infection” I am playing as. The game could use some random events or an antagonist NPC (probably some guy with a fungicide) or another competing player to be more interesting and more of a game.
There is one design oddity / possible bug - buying another decrease in a number of clicks needed to spread doesn’t make much sense after that number gets to 1; yet the option is available and can be bought.
Simple, but fun :)
I especially like the contrast in visuals - the colour selection is great.
Roztomilá a milá klikací hra :) :3
Super simple, but polished, highly satisfying chill game.
The interactions feel tactile, the SFX feel juicy, the music is a nice background so you can just get lost for a couple of minutes trying to devour the world.
My only criticism is the bottom table, where the upgrades didn't really correspond with my real upgrades, so that felt VERY confusing at first.
Overall though, this game showcases the importance of polish and overall cohesion over complexity.
Good job to the team!
Overall a fun little game, liked the funny options and really cool statistics. The game also looks and sounds very pleasant.
Didn't like the clicking mechanic honestly, my fingerst started hurting after a while xD I would suggest either introducing a keybind e.g. X as an alternative to LMB or auto-clicker upgrade. Also would like to see keybinds for the upgrades e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
Also didn't understand what the Spawn radius was doing. I focused on child count mostly, since I thought increasing the spawn radius would just spawn spores further away from where I was cliking. But at level 2-3 I realized that child count matters only if the Spawn radius is also leveled, which feels odd to me.
Thanks for the feedback,
Spacebar is optional but its only mentioned briefly in the game description.
Keybind upgrades is a good suggestion.
With the spawning its exactly as you describe. The upgrades directly feed into the variables of the spawning alghoritm, which is, I admit, clunky approach. If the child has no room to spawn it won't, so you need more space for them.
Pěkná a milá hra :-).
Nicméně souhlasím s ostatními, když jsem si u druhého průchodu zapnul autoclicker, tak to bylo daleko zábavnější :-). Možná by ho šlo přidat zároveň s větším počtem potřebných kliknutí.
Very polished and juiced up, it is very satisfying to play overall.
The less clicking upgrade feels a bit weird as it hits a hard cap really quick, but then lets you spend money anyway. Maybe you could have some spores later in the game that would have different colors and requireed more clicks - lets say if there were lots of spores to be spawned (+ the neighbours), they could instead spawn / convert to a bigger spore that would be harder to click through or something
This could also lead to better performance, as i couldnt play too much of the infinite mode because it overspawned reaally quickly.
Also i think the +1 effect could be spawned on the spores instead. The score is not really a place where you look unless you need to check how much money you have, and the player mostly looks at the mouse. I think it would also be more satisfying and give more of the “number goes up” dopamine, which the cookie clicker genre aims at, if you constantly see something going up. If there were harder spores as mentioned above, the number could be different than 1 too
But overall its fun game for a cookie clicker title, as it feels very nice to click and pop the spores, the art is beautiful and the music accompanies the game very well. Thank you for the entrie :)
Feels very polished, juicy and with lovely visuals. I found it a little stale after a while to be honest. Although I am not the type that is into cookie clicker games, so that's probably on me. So the endless clicking felt a bit annoying. imo it would be very satisfying as either an option or a later game upgrade to pop the spores just with held mouse click and hovering over.
I had a lot of fun playing this game... for about 1 minute. After that it was just the same thing over and over again. I build a larger colony to get some money so that I could get more upgrades, but by the time I clicked to get the upgrades I wanted, half my colony died and I had to start building again. Sure, I get that this is what the game is about, but I just think that with an addition of a few features it could get so much more fun. An option to buy some kind of auto-clicker would greatly help. Having some abilities with a cooldown that could help me fling part of the colony across the level, or make it quickly expand in a burst. All that could make the game more fun, and most importantly, for longer.
However, to not be so negative, the game has a very nice a visual, and the UI is top-notch IMO. The sound and music of the game is great and very fitting.
Overall, I think it is a game with a lot of potential, if more features are added. Also, shipping it for mobile could make a huge difference as clicking/tapping is more natural there.
Sad to hear you only enjoyd it for a minute.
With the upgraded spores you never have to start over from scratch.
You could say you never cross the same river twice... :D
And there is a certain point in game where it takes a life on its own. Give it a try to find it :)
