I wish there was a placed that was easier to talk about indie books and releases of written works here. It would make it easier for me personally to connect with other people! Music has a discussion board but no books?

ooh, that's not a bad idea. Why not create an unofficial thread to discuss books? If it gets enough traction, you may be able to convince itch.io to make an actual discussion board
