Do you have the skill to survive 10 minutes in the Dead Zone?   Prove it

If you're looking for a challenge that will test your reflexes and take you back to the golden age of arcades, you have to play JAQZ's latest game. After a year of refinement on Phaser 3, this title isn't just a zombie shooter; it's choreographed mayhem that won't let you breathe.

I don't know what to say. Lets start with the screen shake. There is too much. The sound of the gun gets tiring quickly. Zombies stacked and  three got stuck in the ceiling so even if I did beat the boss I don't know if I would have won. I did not beat the boss. I was going to try again, but the game is an assault on the senses. The game has an aesthetic. I could pick it out of a line up. I would say the aesthetic is ugly. There are too many clashing colors. It is both bright and dark. The music has too many sharps.

My advice. Cut the number of zombies in half. Replace the music with something with more bass. Less (or no) screen shake. Remove at least one color. Make a quieter shooting sound.

This does have the old arcade game feel. You got that pretty well. The core gameplay is good. There is a lot to like it is just buried under bright colors, buggy zombies, screen shake and sounds I want to mute. 6/10. Needs work but can be saved.

Thanks for your comment. It helps me to keep improving.

It was difficult for me to understand when I was taking damage. It was hard to me to understand what is background, what is mobs, what is environmental hazards (if there are any - I think some of the barrel-like things are maybe hazards). Turning into white (and maybe red?) particles when jumping threw me off, I didn't understand what was going on. Had to go back to the landing page and read the instructions, but I am still confused about what I saw.

The turning-into-crunched-eye-thing death animation is cool.

In general,  it felt a bit like receiving an electric shock. I did not survive 10 minutes.

Hi, thanks for your comment. When jumping, it's invisible. Alpha 0 animation. An idea that came from a jam.

Danger: there's a red and green fire obstacle, and well, it's a mess.

If you got that electric shock feeling, it means it works. You made me laugh, man.
