retro vibes, retro style. but innovative concept.  Lovin' it.

Developer

Thanks for paying attention to our game and especially for your comment :D

It wouldn't let me use the scream when I pressed Q sometimes, so that made it harder, but I really liked the bosses. I couldn't beat the third boss because when I died, I would click retry, and it used my parry, so I would get bombarded and die again. Really fun and pretty difficult. 9/10 Great Work!

Developer

I found out about the bug with screaming too late unfortunately :(

With such a scale in 3 days we didn't manage without bugs, too bad.... Thanks for playing and appreciating it

It really is surprising you were able to make this in just three days.

That was an interesting game but it was kinda hard. I manage to beat all 3 bosses. The art is very good and the music too. The gameplay was hard until I memorize the enemies pattern then it wasnt that hard. It was a good game.

Developer

I'm really glad you made it all the way through and got to see all the content I had planned! Unfortunately, it's very difficult to strike the right balance in terms of difficulty - I wanted to make it accessible enough for those new to the genre, but not so easy that it felt too casual.

Parrying  being your only or main source of damaging the boss is an interesting mechanic and a good take on the limitation. As for feedback, I'm not sure if it was intentional or not since it's a jam but it was entirely possible to sit in one spot and simple mash on parry whenever it became available. And occasionally heal. This, however, only worked for the first two bosses. I also think having more visual feedback for when you're doing damage (other than the lifebar) would go a long way for the actual "feel" of the game. A good bit of content though all things considered!

Of course, better balance wouldn't hurt, but we barely managed to get the basic mechanics in place, and we didn't have enough time to adjust the game's difficulty. I thought our visuals were top-notch, but there really aren't enough effects - thanks for your valuable feedback

I had the chance to make the game more challenging by tweaking the numbers, but I was worried that not everyone is familiar with this genre and many wouldn't be able to fully appreciate the game

Absolutely the right decision in my opinion to make it easier rather than harder. And it gives people more opportunity to see more of what you worked on.

It's an interesting idea, but on my fairly good device, this game lags when there are a lot of projectiles on the screen.

Developer

I don't know what kind of powerful machine you have there, but I didn't encounter any issues when testing on a laptop without a dedicated graphics card and running an older 7th-gen i3 processor. But you're absolutely right—if we're going to develop the game properly, I'll definitely adjust the bullet mechanics for optimization.

Wow this looks incredible. Nicely done!
