Am I the only one who felt oddly chill playing this game? x)

Jokes aside, I really enjoyed it (I love snow environments). The atmosphere, art style, and storytelling are all great. Nice work, GG! ❤️

Really impressive use of atmosphere over cheap jumpscares. The environmental storytelling here is solid for a 5-10 minute game. Maybe thats only for my pc, but it was lagging badly. Overall, great job!

Hello, I tried your game — it’s a solid concept and works well with the theme.

I’ve also created a game based on a one-minute time loop and investigation, would appreciate your feedback if you check it out!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

I’m trying to go through and rate all the games that I can run. I’m going through them in the random queue order, so I’ll get to yours sooner than later.

It's a good game that entertains for a little while as it should for a jam, it reminds me of a game called Moirai, which I guess here the decisions other players make do not affect whether the NPC jumps or not, but in general it's a pretty good game

Developer

Thanks for playing! Ya, the only decision that has any effect on the ending is the last one.

It was really interesting, I really love the low poly style tho I am still confused on how the killer found us so quickly lol, but either way it's entertaining. Great job!

Thanks for giving our game a try!

So you're telling me that not only I need to be scared about the housing market in BC, I also have to worry about serial killers now?

Stellar environment, cute (evil) geese, and really strong plot. Great job!!

I had a good time playing this one! The environment and animations were a strong point. I had fun using the camera to take photos. It was a great idea for advancing the game. I ended up getting stuck at one point because I kept taking a picture of the same animal. The random gunshot did startle me, but I didn't feel the fear aspect. I think more buildup would have helped the horror aspect of the final kill scene.  I was curious if there was a survive ending I attempted a couple of times with different answers to see if I could outwit the killer, but died each time, haha.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I agree there could have been more done to build up the final encounter! No, there was just two ending of you dying and one was just a worse version of the main one.

(SPOILERS – Play it yourself before reading!)

Review of The Deadman's Stretch

In "The Deadman's Stretch" you play as a woman who drives to a remote lake to take photos of birds. What starts as a calm and quiet experience slowly shifts into something more tense and unsttling.

The atmosphere of the game is solid, especially in the beginning, and it creates a nice sense of unease. However, this immersion is sometimes affected by relatively clunky animations.

That said, smaller details like the footprints in the snow and the birds, along with their animations, were very well done and added nicely to the overall atmosphere.

The overall concept works well, but could be developed further to feel more unique and memorable. The buildup to the main climax also felt a bit too quick, and some moments were somewhat predictable, which slightly reduced the overall tension.

Overall, the game shows strong potential, especially in its atmosphere and attention to detail. With some improvements to animation and pacing, as well as further development of the core idea, it could become a much stronger experience.

Thanks so much for the detailed review!

I agree the concept was quite under cooked. We originally had a different idea planned but didn’t end up having enough time to see it to completion so had to pivot.

I really enjoyed this! The atmosphere is incredible and the visuals are so well done. You can tell a lot of work went into the camera mechanics and the story. Great job on this entry!

I couldn't play it because of lag, but I searched some gameplay, and I really enjoyed the graphics and the story. Great game!

Developer

Thanks for going through all that effort!

Ya it’s not well optimized especially the Web version.

A really good game, I 100% prefer the downloadable version, as the web version was very very very laggy, but thats fine, i really liked the graphics, and the props in the car, but like, it wasnt that scary, the environment was good, but bright, id prefer a little dark environment, but it makes sense, as its snowing, lol... Overall, a pretty good game id say!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Ya the Web version is kind of cooked. I agree it’s not scary, we haven’t quite figured out how to make a game scary yet lol.

Nice game dude! The story is the best part. The fact that the killer had a whole system in place there was a pretty epic twist. Keep doing what you are doing man!

(also camera and item selection mechanics were pretty sick)
