Cool idea, and the art is great! More types of enemies would be cool, as it did get very samey after I killed a few hundred enemies, so maybe just take one of the existing enemies, size them up 3x, and give them loads more health. exp and some other abilities would be cool too, but I understand that this is all made super quickly. Great job.
I really liked the idea! I enjoy that I cannot get hurt, but I care about these humans and protecting them.
You have a neat game loop but it was missing an increased challenge as time progressed. Perhaps you should add more enemy types after 500 or 1000 kills. I did have fun though so good job.
Thank you so much for playing Waves, enemy types and unlockable perks were the original plans. but ran out of time. Wanted to do leaderboard last minute and couldn't do that either. Anyway, Glad you enjoyed playing the game!
I love using heavy attack on the enemies, its sooo satisfying to just kill them from afar and seeing them all die in hordes.
Ah glad you enjoyed heavy attacks. Had a plan for jump and slam, typical of the giants, but couldn't reach that far as I ran out of time. Thank you for playing!
its so satisfying to smash the enemies, especially the sound!
I am glad you enjoyed the sound, I was having a hard time choosing sounds. Thank you for playing!
I adore this low-poly aesthetic, the polish, and the animation! It's a super cute and cool game!
Thank you for playing. Glad you enjoyed it
Very interesting game, your game turned out well, congratulations
Thanks a lot for playing. Glad you enjoyed it.
Simple and effective use of the theme ! Did you try to make the giant deal friendly damage to the children (like whoops !) handled the right way it may be quite funny ! However I enjoyed it a lot, good job !
Oh yeah, I did try that, but they keep getting killed way too often. Haha. Now they both run towards the giant when they spot enemies, so they are always almost under the giant's feet. I wanted to change it up a bit, make the boy run away from the mob and not necessarily towards the giant. Would have made it a bit challenging then I suppose. I had a few other enemy types almost ready too. but time ran out. Anyway, I am glad you enjoyed it
I reached more than 1000 foes eliminated (then a mosquito ruined my run >:c ). I really liked the concept of a mobile tower defense. The game could use more of a challenge, though. Having the escort characters moving is a great touch; it forces you to stay mobile and active. Great job!
Whoa, that's impressive. I just wished I had finished that leaderboard on time. Also, I had plans of variety of enemies and waves to make it more challenging, but time ran out too quick for me. Thank you for playing!
This is a promising game. Would be interested to see how this will look if it gets developed further. Great job!
Thank you for playing
That was a fun game x) Just wished to have some more challenge to it, but hey this is already a great start :D
Thank you for playing. Had plans to make it challenging, unfortunately time ran out . Glad you enjoyed it
The art is pretty cool and the sounds were funny -- think you could've leaned more on the funny with the sounds but they are still good. It is an interesting idea and I played for a long time. At first I was using my attacks which felt too easy then I discovered stomping and boy that was a ton of fun, walking around stomping people. So I just did that mainly and used my attacks as a special attack sort of. I found a bug midway where when I turned off the music on my second run (my kid was asleep) for some odd reason it turned back on by its own self midway through.
Otherwise I think you got a cool idea here, the attack needs a cooldown and some weight and maybe some additions or challenges to spice things up.
Good work!
Yeah stomping is fun. I wanted to add stomp count to the top. but that was part of the leaderboard I had in mind. Top Stompers, Top Attackers and so on. Unfortunately, didn't have the time to implement that. And thank you for reporting that bug. Will get to the bottom of it once this jam is over I suppose. And I do hope it didn't wake your kid . Also thank you for the suggestions. Appreciate it.
No worries, no kids were harmed in the stomping process. Looking forward to see what you'd cook up if you decide to continue it!
Hii! I really like the aesthetics of your game and the fact you chose a giant zombie as the main character. Would love to know the backstory behind it, haha. Would love to see more levels implemented if you continue working on this.
Good interpretation of the theme! The controls and camera feel nice, and the sound design works well, too.
It would be really cool to see some progression and more enemy variety if you decide to expand on this.
Thanks for sharing your game!
I love the idea of using your invincibility to protect someone else. There's a solid core here, and if you build on it, I could easily see this becoming a full game. Also bonus points for "easy to learn, difficult to master". If a player can quickly figure out how to play your game within the first five seconds, that's huge. Keep leaning in that direction!
I liked the idea of you being invincible but the boy/girl aren't, would have been fascinating to see chicken and eggs as well. On the gameplay side I felt the difficulty is not increasing so it becomes boring aftee you have slain 250-300 enemies. Just thinking more about it you could have made the boy and girl do dumb things that would end them in trouble like drowning inside a lake, climbing a tree etc and you would have to go save them from that as well.
Overall a good idea just needed a little more variety
I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the first bit! :D I had big plans for variety of enemy waves, unlockable perks, and even a leaderboard, but I simply ran out of time.
Currently, the boy and girl will follow the player once they spot an enemy (otherwise, they just roam). I originally intended for them to have unique paths, the boy running away from enemies while the girl follows the player, but I missed that window in the heat of the jam. Perhaps I'll add that in a future update!
Nice and simple. I see you ran out of time, but with upgrades and different mobs, then I can see how this could evolve into a full fledged game! I like the idea of how there are two people you have to protect and they each move around independently. It made the game more fun.
Thank you for playing and for the feedback.
Great entry. Very fun to play.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks
Smooth game play. Lots of fun and kind of wave defense like. I wish I had a circle AOE!
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed . That was the plan, to do waves with unlock-able perks. Wanted to do a high score board as well. But time ran out. Maybe later perhaps.
The theme matches well, and the bouncy trees are a cool detail
Thanks! I figured if you're playing as a giant, the world should definitely feel it. It wouldn't be right if those trees stayed still!
