I absolutely love hard science fiction stuff like this, and the incredibly tactile attention to detail regarding how you operate the cockpit and control your ship was right on the money here.  The vibes are perfect, the dialogue is great, and everything looks and sounds exactly like what I'd want from this sort of game.

But like other commenters, I did have a lot of trouble figuring out what to do and how to do it.  I eventually managed to find the red access port and get the data, but I couldn't seem to figure out what else I was supposed to grab with the arm after that, or get it to really grab anything at all, after about 15 minutes of trying, so I eventually gave up.  Really cool about the anchor activating and having to turn off the ship to avoid getting fried though.

Huge amounts of potential here if you can communicate to the player a little more effectively what's expected and/or fix bugs preventing it from happening.  In any case, fine work!

P.S. For a full version, being able to reverse thrusters would be really nice.

Thank you very much for kind words!
Yes, I think indeed somewhere an arm operation bug made it to release version and it's really unfortunate. The root of that was probably indeed in the fact that I've spent maybe 80% of time working on buttons and then speedrun development of the rest of the game.

I do also like how it turned out overall, maybe a good candidate to make a bit bigger salvaging sim sometime after jam <3

Hey, nice game! The cockpit design is very detailed and well done. I also like the overall cosmic atmosphere, it creates a strong sense of being in space. One thing I noticed is that it can be a bit hard to see through the screen at times, but in a way that also makes the experience feel more realistic. Well done!

Developer

Thank you! Yes, I think it can defo use some tweaking for either cockpit panels set up or player camera position. It indeed turned out to be a bit hard to navigate properly. I still can't decide if it should be claustrophobic or not. I like both, I can't choose ;_;

What a game! I could see this as a good game for VR. This is a really polished game despite the time constraints of the jam. Well done!

Developer

Thank you very much!
VR seems like a great idea. Maybe evolve it into more horror vibe or more chill kind of game. Gotta think after jam <3

It took me an embarrassing amount of time, to realise. That I wasn't supposed to center the targeting system, over the objective numbers. The arm only works, if the objective marker is on the sides of the square.

I honestly think this is a bug in the latest version.
I did indeed try to go for arm that is specifically misaligned to the cockpit, but tried removing that later on. I guess I didn't manage to fix it 100%
Thank you very much for playing and checking out the game <3

I like the art style a lot and the controls inside the space ship cockpit made me really immserived . I cant really see out the window that well though so going to where i needed was hard, this game is polished as well so good job.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and checking out the game. <3

I think I initially planned for something akin to Iron Lung and blocked most of cockpit to make it feel more claustrophobic, but in later stages of dev there was more emphasis put on visuals and it eventually caused this gameplay/visual clash.

Still, thank you for your kind words!

Amazing concept. Loved the whole vibe of the game. The interior of the cockpit looked very well designed, with screen UI panels and everything. Great work!

Developer

Aww thank you! This is so nice to hear. This was my first attempt at 3D, so a lot of stuff is just cuboids. I am really glad you like that <3

But I really enjoyed in the end fiddling with material in GODOT, Material Maker and setting up lights. I think I've been vibing too in  the end!

not really my style of games but I still found it to be very enjoyable. The atmosphere and the art were really held together nicely by the glow surrounding the cockpit. Good job finishing the game!!

would love for you to check out my game aswell

Developer

Thank you very much!
I am definitely going to check yours and overall will try my best to play, rate and comment as many games as possible.

It is a great feat to finish and every single one I tried so far is a celebration of creativity <3

I agree that gameplay does need some polish, maybe a good opportunity for after jam project
