The gameplay was really fun! So many different upgrades. I liked that you had to avoid your own towers' attacks as an expression of the theme. At first the game started out easy but as you progress through more and more waves it truly turns into a proper bullet hell. Eventually I had the whole center my screen filled with four-beam, high-damage pylons and I was just leading massive herds of bad guys into it while desperately avoiding all of the projectiles that were all over the place. Awesome work!

Really interesting core gameplay loop, don't know if I've seen this exact concept before. Everything worked well once I got the hang of it and it was fun madly running away from enemies and chasing my targets. I especially liked the cool 80s synth-y music and the way it changes as you progressed. Great work!
Got both endings, really fun little platformer! I thought the level design was solid and I really liked the visuals, very unique vibes. Especially the player character was very well-animated.
I will say that I chose to trust the ghosts every single time and it didn't seem like I ever got punished? Maybe I was just extremely lucky though.
Great job!
I do like me a good challenging platformer! It was interesting having to really think about the level design and kind of make educated guesses on which things would be real or fake, and felt pretty on-theme. I will say it was quite the difficulty spike going from the training levels to the main(?) level, but still manageable. Fun game in any case, nice work!
Thank you to everyone who has played so far! Truth be told, this is the most rushed I have felt in all of the game jams I've been participated in, and the final product came out buggier and less polished/juicy than I would normally expect from myself. Still happy I managed to get something out there though and I'm grateful to everyone who took the time to play!
You weren't kidding when you said the game was fast-paced! I agree with those saying that it's fast enough to become hard to control, although it does feel really cool when you get into a flow and manage to keep it going. Enjoyed the hints at an interesting cyberpunk story and attacks felt reactive and juicy. Could be the start of a cool game, good work!
I agree with others that the gameplay loop is pretty hard to process at the speed you need to, but also not something I've seen before, so points for originality! And it was doable enough on Easy, the tutorial was actually harder than the game itself. Regardless, this is probably the funniest and most stylish game I've played so far in the game jam, you immediately had me laughing out loud and I kept laughing the whole time. Looked and sounded great too. Fine work!
This was really well-executed in almost every way, I was really into the story and the dice game definitely spiced things up. The music was good and the art was really nice. Good writing and dialogue in general, which isn't easy. I do have to say though, having to legitimately win every round of Liar's Dice for the "best" ending took a long time and got kind of frustrating since you had to replay the tutorial every time and skip so much dialogue. If you could restart from after the tutorial that would have helped a lot. Another possibility could be to cheat and just let them player win by rigging the game after X number of attempts, but I can understand why you wouldn't do that. Other than that one frustration though, I really enjoyed this, wonderful job!
Phew, that was tough! I agree that it would feel more intuitive to dash in the direction you're moving instead of the mouse cursor, that's how these games normally work, and it felt like I had to kind of re-train my brain in order to fight the boss. That said, I will admit it made playing the boss fight feel different from most twin stick shooters, and once I got used to it, I didn't mind so much; moreso that the boss had so much health and I could only take two hits, haha. I eventually beat it and it was fun though!
I really liked the simple pixel art, nice color choices and everything read very well and was pleasant to look at. The game feel was great, and while a bit weird, the controls worked well once I got used to them. Seemed pretty on-theme in terms of the storyline. Had a lot of fun, fine work!
Got both endings! Pretty dark stuff, really liked the vibe and art especially. Not a whole lot there gameplay-wise but I thought it was well-executed in terms of all the "second thoughts" and the presentation of the whole thing. From a story perspective I would have liked to see a little more of the main character's motivations. In any case, nicely done!
Great work, fantastic expression of the theme and some nice little twists on the "don't turn your back on them" horror gameplay mechanic. I liked the gradual introduction of new mechanics, and you managed to implement quite a bit of content here for a short game jam. It got quite challenging at times, but not in a bad way. I wouldn't say the game was all that scary, but definitely tense and disturbing, and a nice twist at the end. Fine work!
Feels like Tuesday afternoon on my local highway.
Really though, hilarious game, I laughed out loud watching the cars drive off the road ahead of me. Fits the theme really well too. One minor complaint, it would be nice if you had some kind of reset or "unstuck" button, since once I did get stuck on the edge of the roadway and had to close the game and open it again to actually complete it.
Other than that, simple and funny and enjoyable, good job!
My deductive reasoning is probably terrible, but I got pretty stuck on figuring out which were lies on 11 and eventually gave up, but not before... far too many pigeons. I wasn't a huge fan of the number puzzles but that's personal taste. Everything else brought a huge smile to my face, I loved the way the lying birds incorporated the theme, and up until toward the end, I thought it seemed like more of a traditional platformer than a puzzle platformer, which had me laughing because I thought that was part of the "trust no one" theme too. In any case great work, nice simple art and sounds that worked well, good level design, clever and funny.
Very polished and well-made entry. It was fun going for multiple endings and trying to improve. A little more RAM might have been nice since you can pretty easily spend it all on just one character. I did really enjoy the inclusion of well-known characters so that people who know the genre well have a shorthand for what kind of gigs those characters would be good for.
Love the simple cartoony hand-drawn art style! It might have been nice to have some kind of tutorial in the game, but I was able to mostly figure it out from reading the game page and experimenting, although some of the details still escaped me. Seems like a well-thought-out core gameplay loop even though the learning curve was a little tricky. Great work!
Really nice game, it looked and sounded great and the combat was very intuitive and felt good, which I know isn't easy to pull off in one week. The boss fight was great too, so many different mechanics. I did find it extremely difficult personally, much moreso than the rest of the game, took me many attempts. But it was still very cool and well-executed. Great work!
Really love the art style and I'm a big fan of these kinds of time management games. I was a bit confused about some aspects of the core game loop though. I understood you weren't supposed to launch with less than two people or with an overcrowded module, and were supposed to launch with people who had collected supplies, but I wasn't quite sure how to tell good people to launch with from bad, so it often felt a bit random to me whether to cancel the launch or not. Does the appearance of the people determine whether they're somebody you want to allow onboard? Cool concept and very charming in any case!
Fun take on the twin stick shooter genre! There was quite a bit of variety and just a lot of game here with all the different enemy types and different abilities you could copy, and so many different waves to battle. The visuals looked nice with all the particle effects and the different robot designs. I also thought the game feel was pretty good with the way you made the enemies flash and such. A few more sound effects for things like reloading and projectiles hitting would be welcome additions if you continue to polish this further. Great job!
Bizarre and interesting take on on the theme, both in terms of the gameplay mechanics and the visual style. I liked the idea of having a vision cone that also made the guys invincible when you could see them, and having to use traps to get them while looking away. Since there was really only the one trap, I feel like maybe it should have just been bound to the left click button at all times? That would probably make people less confused starting out. But I'm guessing you had planned to have more stuff in the store and just didn't get to it in time before the end of the jam, so understandable.
Nice job!
