This game is beautiful.  I love how the theme is incorporated into the story, and how high stakes the dice game feels after the first play through. The dice not only unlocks more of the story, but helps me not hurt our favorite regular LOL. I got way too invested.

I initially had questions like how does this guy not remember anything LOL but everything started making more and more sense. I also love your little spoiler in the description because its true. The guy across from me isn't actually bad, he's not wrong he's just doing what he's gotta do. This game is super polished, I love the game, the story just everything about it. Trust me, I have a short attention span, especially with reading but I kept playing despite that XD

Thank you. Glad you like it.Took my quite some time to write the story.

Very nice game! I made it through to an ending, and have to say I did not see the twist and enjoyed the story thoroughly. Very nice job on the theme. Also impressive to have that level of polish and a game + visual novel as a solo dev.

Also excited to see another interpretation of Liar's Dice! (very different rules/gameplay from my and the other one I found)

Sadley did not have enough time to play this fully, but what I did see was good. Captain Jack would be proud of your implementation. Good art style choice.

Mixing dice and story was a great idea. The art is beautiful, and so is the sound design and writing.

Im not sure the rules of Liars Dice were properly implemented though; there are many variations but I think in the most popular one if a player says something like 2 faces of 4, you can up the ante with 3 faces of 2, even if 2 is less than 4 :)

Thank you. Glad you like it. I intentionally implemented a stricter but simpler version of Liars Dice rule, so that UI and interactions would be intuitive without having to explain too much to a first time player of Liars Dice. That's why I didn't do wilds for ones as well.

Really enjoyable game! Had to play a few times to get endings. Only managed 3/4 so no idea how to get the last one.

Really great entry!

The style , music and atmosphere are catching from the very first moment! I would only cut some dialogs in the very beginning to get to the gameplay faster. Nice game.

At the start of the game jam, I had a pretty similar idea (story during playing cards), but I ended up switching to Papers Please style. Maybe that turned out to be for the best, because I doubt I would have been able to pull off a game of similar quality.

A very interesting take on the theme. While the gameplay loop itself is pretty simple, it stays enjoyable because of the story elements in between. Also the visuals and music make for a nice atmosphere.

Extremely polished art style! The pixel consistency really got me — everything looks so cohesive and well put together. Really nice entry with some seriously hooking gameplay!

Great job!

I did not expect a story game here so it was a pleasant surprise .  I really liked how you fit in the theme of the game with both the narrative and the gameplay. the pixel art and music were really cool too. kinda reminds me of coffee talk lol

Damn that was a sad ending to the story. Game looks really good!

The art style is super good here! It definitely feels very polished, and the chill atmosphere is splendid. I didn't really get the mechanics for the dice game though (I'm not very well-versed in card/dice games), so I mostly just tried clicking random numbers and pressing raise/challenge whenever. Good job!

Chill vibes. Chill game. Well written. Well done

This was really well-executed in almost every way, I was really into the story and the dice game definitely spiced things up.  The music was good and the art was really nice.  Good writing and dialogue in general, which isn't easy.  I do have to say though, having to legitimately win every round of Liar's Dice for the "best" ending took a long time and got kind of frustrating since you had to replay the tutorial every time and skip so much dialogue.  If you could restart from after the tutorial that would have helped a lot.  Another possibility could be to cheat and just let them player win by rigging the game after X number of attempts, but I can understand why you wouldn't do that.  Other than that one frustration though, I really enjoyed this, wonderful job!

Thank you. And I played your game as well. Definitely a beautify rhythm game. With quite some innovation in the interaction design. Very well done. (itch.io seems to think I commented too many :( so I cannot comment under your game, I just relay the thought here.)

mixing the dice game with visual novel elements is a really cool idea! definitely made the game more engaging. i also liked the art and the sound effects were satisfying

Really fun and engaging! The graphics, music and sound effects are all pretty good. I wasn't familiar with the dice game but the tutorial made it easy to understand. The writing is phenomenal, definitely the highlight of the game!

I'm not a big visual novel fan  so this was not exactly my cup of tea but that's on me.  The visuals themselves were really great though. Also liked the sound a lot when the dice got mixed again.

I've played your game as well. Definitely one of the best I played for this jam. I just love shop running games. And a pawn shop fits the theme right in. And outstanding completion with every aspects of the game in such a short time. (itch.io seems to think I commented too many :( so I cannot comment under your game, I just relay the thought here.)
