Really liked the setting and visuals are solid too. I did however not fully understand how to make out the uncool customers.

This feels very ambitious and the tutorial is really needed but maybe it would have been more helpful to build a tutorial level for the player that you can play out with info boxes in each step of the gameplay, so the player fully understand the mechanics. Anyway, one of the more creative entries in this jam! Great!
Thank you very much for this nice review. The pixel art we did was inspired by the classic Lucas Arts games like Monkey Island. We thought it looks still nice after all these years even though the its so simplistic in its design and tried that for our game as well. Glad all the little details didn't go unnoticed either :)
Thank you for the kind words and the good feedback. Yeah GIFS would make it look more appealing right away probably. But hey, this way you were pleasantly surprised no ;)? Next time we will definitely think about making GIFS for the preview pics. Already left a comment and rated your game a few days ago :)
Thank you very much for the kind words. We went trough to levels for our pixel art. For the character models, I did the first round and than my more experience colleague refined it to make it as pretty and readable as possible. The title screen and animations are all him. We only had one programmer on our team and he worked wonders.
This is a hidden gem in this game jam. It is different from all the "Papers please" clones in that it actually makes you interpret the info that you habe. The visuals and the audio work great together and enjoyed playing it all the way through, even though I failed to save the shop. This is truly one of my favorites so far!
