How does the game fit the theme?
Buy and sell a bunch of junk inside your own pawn shop. But look out for scammers - you can't trust anybody!
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

A very creative and polished game. The animations and small details are incredibly well done, and even though the pixel art style is quite simple, it feels surprisingly pleasant and charming. I ended up spending a lot of time playing it and really enjoyed the experience.
Thank you very much for this nice review. The pixel art we did was inspired by the classic Lucas Arts games like Monkey Island. We thought it looks still nice after all these years even though the its so simplistic in its design and tried that for our game as well. Glad all the little details didn't go unnoticed either :)
I really enjoyed this game i love it
Thank you for the kind words. We are happy you enjoyed it so much.
It’s my favorite game so far, but because of the jam's theme, I hate it just as much. I’ve never been deceived so badly and so often before.
Haha, thank you very much! And also sorry for all those scams!
Great game, I realliy liked the art and the game idea, I didn´t play a lot of games so i dont know if it was original, but at least i didnt think of it
Thank you! There were a handful of shop/bartering games, although they all work a little different. Maybe you'll still have the chance to play some of them during the last couple of days!
w game.. it felt (surprisingly cozy??) i like pixel-art games that are done this way.. reminds me of many fav games i played before
also i love the store management mechanics they seem balanced well overall i had alot more fun than i though i would get
(i think you have to replace the screenshots with Gif’s since they dont look that interesting, i was surprised on how fun the game is after trying it)
( can u pls try my game :3 )
Thank you for the kind words and the good feedback. Yeah GIFS would make it look more appealing right away probably. But hey, this way you were pleasantly surprised no ;)? Next time we will definitely think about making GIFS for the preview pics. Already left a comment and rated your game a few days ago :)
i have a short memory hehe
but i dont remember rating/playing your game before
tho i had it already rated/played i was somewhat confused by that hehe, i thought it was a deja vu or that my brother tried it
Nice pixel art and really polished overall! I was especially impressed by how the store management mechanics were integrated into the time-limited puzzles (and very close to the theme). Great job!
Thank you very much for the kind words. We went trough to levels for our pixel art. For the character models, I did the first round and than my more experience colleague refined it to make it as pretty and readable as possible. The title screen and animations are all him. We only had one programmer on our team and he worked wonders.
Honestly this is a really impressive and polished game especially for a game jam. From the UI elements to even having a mini game inside it, there’s so much content. It was really fun to play. Congrats!
Thank you very much for such high praise. We glad that what we aimed at was visible <3
This game is ADDICTING! Really nice retro art and music, and the sound effects are just perfect. The upgrades are really cool (especially the machine with the snake minigame!) and it's nice that the customers have preferred items that fit their aesthetic.
Overall simple but fun game and fitting the theme perfectly :D
Thank you so much, your last sentence was all that we had hoped for to achieve. Very glad that it actually feels like that :)
Great game
Thank you
well made, congrats
Thank you very much :)
This is one of my favorite games this jam. I like this style of game in general but, like. There's a lot of depth here. Good upgrade variety, the upgrades add stuff to your store. The snake minigame was fun, I just played that for a while. I got 39 as my high score there, lol. I've never been good at snake. I also like the links to other gamejam games, that's really fun. As of writing this my store, Real Good Stuff, was 10 on the leaderboards. Very fun!
Thank you very much for this review. We are very happy so many people enjoy what we did. Playing the snake minigame sure always is a good strat to take your mind off the most recent scam that old lady Norma Louise probably tried to pull ;).
Actually I want to add a little more because I was thinking about it and I really like this game, but I really like a lot of the little touches this game has. The boot reappearing if you didn't have any items to sell meaning you can't get softlocked with having no money and nothing to sell. The robust options menu, the activatable cheats. There's a lot of care put into this game.
Very well done. A lot deeper than I expected!
Thank you so much. Yeah we worked just to polish and deepen the enjoyment for the final 36 hours of the jam.
Cool idea that fits the theme quite well. The gameplay loop was really fun.
Thank you for the nice feedback.
The gameplay loop is very addictive, really fun game. It's fun searching for the perfect scams for each character.
I really like the incremental upgrades
Thank you for the nice review. We weren't sure at first if people would pick up on the favorite items for each customers so we worked on that until the very end to make it nicer and more intuitive.
im so bad at snake, i actually had to play as intended
Haha hope the actual core game was also fun :D
You can play this game for quite a long time until you get tired of it. It’s great for working on during week. The visuals are decent, and the game jam theme is well executed. Bobr coooool :>
Thank you so much for your kind words. We hoped it would feel like a complete experience without feeling tedious.
I played it again, and it’s honestly still so lovely! It was really creative. Great job!
Oh that is so nice to see. Thank you and we are very flattered that it is that entertaining for folks :)
this caputred the theme perfectly.
maybe the upgrades could be just a bit more centered around trading
thank you for the nice feedback. That is actual a good idea.
This game is so cool! The UI is great and I loved how the coloring of the price sliders gives you feedback about how likely it is to be accepted. It seems maybe a little too easy to make big profits, since unless I'm mistaken anyone will always buy anything, even if they only sell one item? My only complaint is that the snake mini-game was a little half-baked. It's very important for snake games to have input buffering so you can do things like hit two keys in rapid sequence to make a u-turn. I guess that's ok though since it was essentially an infinite money machine!
Thank you for the nice feedback. We actually made the first two in-game days easier for the player. After that it picks up and you will have more difficulty to scam but also will be more likely to get scammed. We debated if the entry point in the game should be just as tough and decided to make it more accessible but some player like you didn't seem to need that :). The snake mini game is mainly an easter egg and it's not supposed to distract too much from our main game. There are for sure more polished snake clones than ours :D.
Everything was very cohesive, the premise was great, & overall, an enjoyable game! Also, I appreciate the addition of an arcade machine (playing Snake was where I made most of my money) & an online leader board (very cool!).❤️
Thanks for the nice review of our game! We took the final 36 hours of the jam only to make these things more polished and it makes us very happy when people like you appreciate it. <3
