How does the game fit the theme?
In this game you play a simple adventure game, but it turns out you can't trust the developers. Because the game is still a 'work in progress', the devs change the game as you progress.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Used songs from Karl Casey, Vespidaze and IHateTuesdays

Used some tilemaps for the houses and other props

How many people worked on the game?

Cool game! I can tell a lot of effort went into this.

Developer

Thanks! We spent a lot of time on it indeed, so it is nice to see you notice

One must imagine me with a giant grin playing through this game. Lots of personality and easter eggs in this one. I laughed out loud multiple times.
That boulder puzzle I did not understand (solved it by furiously slamming my keyboard and mouse together but there ought to be a better way).
And the rythm section was very challenging, but I prevailed!!

Developer(+1)

Haha good to see you enjoyed it! The boulder puzzle is still a bit janky, so I get that you struggled with it.

Submitted(+1)

One could even say... The boulder puzzle is still 'work in progress'.

Interesting idea!
I would have like a shorter first part, so having to repeat it does not take that long. Besides that, graphics, sounds and feel is very good.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Maybe it would've been better if we added a checkpoint before the first boss indeed

Agree, you can add that one as one of the things that get added by the devs, after X amount of deaths.

This is epic, well done

Developer

Thank you! Glad you liked it

Haha glad to know we weren't the only ones thinking of "game is work in progress" for our entries. So much personality in this one, loved the idea of devs switching things up mid adventure, especially the FPS section. Great work

Developer

Haha yeah we were really surprised to see a game with almost the same name! Thank you!

An impressive world, especially for a game jam. It was fun exploring the locations and meeting the inhabitants, and I really got immersed in the story! I was clicking 'E' like crazy because I couldn't tell what was interactive and what wasn't, haha.

The concept is cool; it feels like a full-fledged game that’s genuinely fun to play, great job!

P.S. The collision detection was a bit jarring at times, it wasn't always obvious, but that’s normal; a bit of polish will fix it right up.

Developer

Yeah we made some hidden interactables haha. We indeed have some weird colliders and stuff, but we did not have enough time to fix that sadly

I must be tone-deaf or something, because I have a really bad skill issue when it comes to rhythm games. I spent like half an hour on that part alone, and with the three spiders in a row, it felt like I couldn't physically swing the sword fast enough with the cooldown and had to do nearly frame-perfect inputs to get it. I think a checkpoint or heal when you get to the boulder part would probably help a bit.

Other than that, it was super fun overall, and probably one of the best games of the jam. I still enjoyed the rhythm part a lot, even if it made me rage more than Getting Over It lol. Awesome job!

Developer

Believe me, we had a lot trouble aswell except for the person that made the rhythm part haha. We should probably have playtested that a bit more.. Thank you for playing!

What really makes this game great is that you can tell the developers put alot of passion into this game despite it's flaws. It really made me smile and even laugh during many parts of the game. I'd argue that the weird collisions and resized sprites actually contribute to this game feeling unfinished and still a work in progress. Despite what it looks like on the surface, this game deserves a chance. It has personality.

Developer(+1)

Haha glad that it is noticible :). There are indeed a bunch of flaws and bugs but I guess that adds to the work in progress part indeed! Thank you for playing!

Absolutely interesting game. Classy rpg style. Sounds definitely add to the vibe. Has great potential to unfold into a pretty unique rpg.

Developer

Thank you!

Really cool idea and fun game. I really liked the sounds effects and the pixel art of the devs appearing out of nowhere in the middle of a fantasy pixel battle was pretty funny.

Developer

Thank you!

The whole "devs fixing stuff while you're playing" idea was super funny and fit the work in progress theme really well haha. I liked how the game leans into that instead of just using it as a joke in the description. Movement and attacking felt nice, though I did get a little confused during some of the on-the-fly changes... still a very fun jam entry :D

Developer

Ahh thank you so much!

Submitted(+2)

Very silly game, gotta say it. The devs intervening in the gameplay is top notch xD

Developer

Thank you for playing! Nice to see you enjoying it

Very interesting concept of the game being changed on the fly as the player plays. Love the art style too. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!

Very fun. It feels really polished for a jam game.

Well done!

Absolute banger, devs are a bit strange though...
