Thank you for your feedback. In an update, I have added multiple hints. The joke is corny, as you say, so it's so on theme.

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad you found it funny. I have some updates ready for after the voting period, and multiple hints have been added.

Your point is valid. Dev time limitations prevent more in-depth gameplay. I am glad you got at least one minute of fun. Thank you for your feedback

I am glad that you got the joke. Thank you for the feedback.

Needs to play in fullscreen mode, not scaling correctly in window mode.

"Was in dev hell", I know that feeling, well done for completing the game. The initial mechanic wasn't clear at first; I nearly gave up. Interesting concept, but the gameplay is a little frustrating at times.

Not a bad effort. For me, swiping with the mouse was in the reverse direction. A replay button would be nice.

Well done for getting a working game done in 3 hours. At the moment, it's bland and needs something more. With more time, you could improve this game.

Love this game idea, design is simple but fun.

Two improvements if you had more time

  1. Allow for dark mode: black screen, white numbers
  2. Limit the number of incorrect clicks; it's too easy to just randomly click untill you find the correct one.

What game engine did you use?

Never got past the wall jump. I think you could have started with a single wall jump problem. Like the simple style.

Nice idea, I enjoyed the concept and gameplay.

Great idea and stylishly presented.

As already noted, you can open all three to advance. Nice submission, nice style good use of sound and visuals

The concept is nice, but the actual gameplay is somewhat disappointing, as I didn't really feel that my winning or losing had anything to do with my choice.

Some instructions would be helpful: I spawned boxes, clicked on them, the camera shook, and nothing happened.

I like the main character's pixel art. I think the main game idea is something different. I think more time could be polished into something better, but for the three-hour gam jam, it is a good submission, well done.

Good choice of music. However, what is the difference between a "purse" and a "wallet"? One will give the correct point, the other the wrong one, yet both are valid given the clues.

This is a good submission. I like the simple style choices. I have one thing to consider: when failing means restarting from the beginning, it's a breaking point for whether to continue playing, since you have to go back to the level you were at after completing all the simple levels. Maybe consider limiting the number of attempts at each level.

You did, the absolute minimum is 16, which would mean guessing everyone correctly

The title says it all

As of when the post was posted, there were already eight games posted, none of which adhere to the theme, and they have been added to every jam on ItchIO

Please report this jam; it does not need this rubbish.

They have all been removed

Thank you for your playing and your feedback

Thank you for playing and feedback. Some of your suggestions have already been added, like a limited number of wrong guesses, which also lowers the score. As for messages generated by AI—it just saved so much time. Writing out 100 messages by hand and checking they fit the game's format would have taken too long.  I did think about including options for the messages to have like quotes, film Titles, etc., but I believe it would be too much effort for this trijam project.

The game was in a cropped window, and there was no option to go into full-screen mode, so I had no idea what I was doing.

A nice variety of a puzzles

Good submission, the restating from the beginning is a bit frustrating

Nice submission

During the voting, I am updating the game, which can be found here: In Development.

Added

  • Start and end Title screens.
  • Game now end at 10 incorrect letters.
  • For each Message the score gained for a correct message is decreased by 10 point per incorrect letter.
  • Toggle music On/Off.
  • Upon successful message reveal, a burst of fireworks occurs, and the letter buttons are disabled for 2 secs until the next hidden message starts.

No I did not. So I replayed the game. Now my question is: since sprint is unlimited, why not make sprint the default and make walking slow with the shift key?

My implementation of the double jump is clunky, I intend to improve this with updates after the voting. I will also be enhancing the location of ship parts, TBH it was very last thing I did and shows on the Arc and Face levels.

Thank you for your feedback.

Found the bug: forgot to reset the shipparts collected count with a new game. So once you have collected five ship parts, you would always win when picking up the next ship part, even in a new game. Bug fix upload. Thank you.

That looks like a bug. I'll look later tonight and patch it then. So tired of getting up at 6 am, rewriting the whole game from scratch because the other build failed and I didn't understand why. Colliders do need work; some of it is just sown hacky code that works most of the time, but has lots edge case not covered. Thanks for the feedback.

I like the idea, but it did take me five mins to figue it out, just question sign posting it a bit better

I like the switching mechanic

Nicely done. I like hand-drawn graphics.

The game concept is a great idea; with more time, I think it could be something interesting. I found the movement a little to slow.

Interesting gameplay. You might want to add in the description that to start, shoot the play button to activate it. I almost thougth the game was broken at first.

This is a great little game, simple fun and good use of the theme. I did not have time to complete as I got a bit stuck after the third pizza delivered.

I see a lot of improvement in the gameplay and control from your previous effort. I did find the slap attack a bit too slow.

Good work of this week.

(I keeping quite on overscoping and dev time as I had more torterous time this week)

It is shame that it is just a start level. It has so much potential. Will you be devolping this further?
