the animations were well made and the characters were very charming, a fun little game. I found the liar first try! spot on for the theme also
Havent seen Scratch in a long time! Fun lil game, keep getting better and dont give up!
very nice game. It would be nice if the textboxes were more polished though.
Stevie is a Liar, I will select that any day, LOL
I always find Doodles charmning
a cute and tiny little game!
The collisions weren't the best but oh well, we all begin from somewhere and I completely understand that!
I thought 004 might be the liar themselves at first tbh but then I realized I'm overthinking it lol.
I enjoyed my time, good job!
Oh wow I thought subject 004 was the liar
I ended 4 and thought I was smart... Good thing I can instantly try again and the true liar isn't that hard to figure out!
The sound and visual are cute
Tho I had little problems with dialogues restarting at first because I didn't know I had to wait to read
Keep improving!
The trigger zones for the side rooms are finnicky, I had to be at the very bottom of the entrance for it to trigger. On my first run it made me think that I am not allowed to go in those rooms yet and maybe i had to trigger a story event.
Another bug I encountered on my first play, I only talked to 2 characters yet the game thought I already talked to all 3 and it asked me to pick the liar. Can't tell if the game expected me to go in a certain order with interrogating the characters.
I was also caught a bit off guard that the game wanted me to pick so soon, I would have appreciated if the game gave me the freedom to pick whenever I want instead of it being scripted.
Some feedback: you describe yourself as a new jammer:
- Press Z to start the conversation, but pressing it again restarts it. Disable it until the conversation has finished, and if you leave the room (it will continue if you leave, and you can have two conversations going on at the same time. Also optional, but a "space" for the next bubble is common.
- Have WASD with E to interact at the same time as arrows and Z. Have just one key for interacting, which includes starting a conversation.
- Use menu buttons to select the liar rather than input text (no one likes typing, and there are only three options). Optionally, you can add a graphic of their face.
Good things are that it was fun, quirky, and complete. well done
I was a bit confused as to who was who, but I LOVED the sprites and animations. The music was also rather good! If I may offer some advice:
Having name tags attached to the characters or speech bubbles would be nice, as well as a way to advance the speech bubbles with an input. I'd also recommend tweaking the hitboxes on some of the interactions, a button prompt would show up when I wasn't intractable with something. I'd also like to talk to everyone more than once and have like a terminal where I can enter the liar on my own time.
However, I liked the concept a lot, and the characterization was VERY strong!
