Hey, here's ours - /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4951190

Here's our game, the 3d graphics are a bit heavyweight, if it runs slow in the browser there's a windows download too... /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4951190

Rated and commented. Heres ours - /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4951190

Great game, loved the tile based combat and the storyline.

Completed, commented and rated :)

Heres ours - /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4951190

Played and succeeded! Cool music and the graphics were cute, very stylised.

Have rated and commented. Here's ours - /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4951190

Beautiful visuals. One annoying bug was that I was using spacebar to advance audio, then once a conversation had finished spacebar turned into skip day!

Completed and rated, nice game! Here's ours - /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4951190

Always nice to see a 3d game in a game jam, short and sweet, with a nice twist!

Just played and rated, here's ours - /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4951190

Fun little game, I couldn't get recruitment to work either, and a little hard to see with all the corpses scattered on the battlefield, but it looked cool :D

Hey, just played and rated yours, great game. Here's ours - /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4951190

Great game, got me thinking. The graphics were really nice, very cohesively presented!

Yep, you can preload the assets/materials in a starter scene to force them to load up front.

A bigger gain we found was making sure all our materials used the same properties so that they could use the same shaders. That massively improved load times and in game frame rates!

Hey, I liked your game but the monster phase was too hard to get through! Here's ours - https://hookmanuk.itch.io/onlycams

Great idea, but the monster phase was way too hard. I couldn't beat the first night.

Have rated and commented, check out our game at https://hookmanuk.itch.io/onlycams :)

Fun little game, like others I got killed on the 3rd screen. Also noticed the lag when new things happened as well which made it seem like it had crashed for a few seconds. Nice music too.

Hey, your game was pretty great, would  appreciate a rating on ours, thanks!

Very atmospheric game, the music was especially fitting and epic!

I'd like to see this fleshed out more, one of the missions mentioned getting an upgrade, but then nothing happened, so I assume upgrades didn't make it in time for the jam.

Really nice use of the parallax effect for space as well, quite a soothing meditative experience :)

This should be fixed now, we capped the size of each fire flame so it shouldn't grow too big to extinguish now!

Great little game, the tutorial was useful, made me think about what was happening and how to play the game without being totally hand holding.

Shooting felt a little hard to judge the delay, perhaps reducing the reload time would make that a little less frustrating.

If you spot the fire early you can grab the fire extinguisher and put it out before it grows too big. I can try and fix the bug you found though, if you use it for long enough it should put out any fire which it may not be doing right now, sorry!

Just rated yours, please give our game a go, note the loading time can be slow first time, sorry!

By the way I think official ratings for the jam only start after submission deadline passes? At least for me I couldn't rate for the game jam sub categories yet...

Hey, so my game submissions page is full of lovely comments from everyone, thank you all!

My question is what will happen to tha submissions rating page after the jam ends? I'd really like for the option to make that public rather than it just disappear. Anyone know what happens to it? In contrast my public game page comments and ratings look a bit empty as everyone has had to use the jam page...

Cool style, one idea could be to turn it into more of a puzzle game if you had to complete the level within a certain number of hits from your bat. Perhaps the bat disintegrates a little each time is it hit.

Nice polished game, though if anything it made me feel calm whilst playing with the sound of the sea in the background, possibly the opposite of chaos!

Really nice style, very geometry wars like! As others have said, moving diagonally would've been nice, and the scrolling seemed to jitter the ship which it sounds like someone had a solution for below too. Hope you keep going, I loved the gfx and music :)

Hi there, that would be great if you can play my game on stream. Unfortunately I'm busy at that time, but if its a YouTube video I'll be sure to check it out afterwards :)

yep, sorry, I misunderstood from your screenshots, that does suck

I believe the ratings on your dashboard are public ratings for the game.

The ratings on the submission page are the number of people in the jam who have rated it, and those ratings are secret at the moment, I think!

ah do you mean that you've got more ratings than downloads? I can't explain that one... you may be right people have rated without playing :(

Thanks, some good ideas there, hadn't thought about the puzzle idea on preset up screens before.

Yes I agree it would be hard to make money out of, and I'd definitely keep the existing gameplay in as one mode.

I did try and focus my efforts on something achievable in a jam, which I think has ended up with something that may be difficult to extend without breaking it!

Glad that you like it as is, sometimes simple is best :D

Good work on the score! Thanks for the suggestions, there's definitely scope for fleshing this out I think :)

I did actually have to put a cap on the number, as like you say it can sometimes turn into an infinite cycle which was actually hanging the browser :D

I think there's a bug in my code though as it's supposed to cap at 3000 but obviously people are still getting higher, probably for the best really as it's not hanging and it doesn't look like theres a specific hard cap on the scores, so best of both worlds!

Long term I think I can rewrite the renderer/optimise the path finding to allow for more organisms, I just ran out of time...

Sorry, I think I should have explained it better, nearly everyone is very confused when first playing it!

Glad you worked it out :)

Thanks for the great review, it's comments like this that make me think I should continue and expand the game!

Are there any other features would you like to see in a bigger version of the game?

I like it! Quite similar to my game, you know you're doing well when it starts lagging as there's too much on screen :D

I found the best tactic was lining them all up against one wall. It did break around 3500 as well, everything got pushed outside the level and seemed to disappear.

Very nice graphics :)

Probably not a good idea to put copyrighted music in your game and youtube vids though!

That's strange, first report I've had of that, do other browser jam games work for you? Maybe try a different browser if you can?

You may need to turn ad blockers or shields off on your browser?
