Neat take on potion brewing, I really liked the axis of ingredients, I think that is a really nice touch on the potion brewing theme. In a longer game it would be cool if you had to experiment to unlock these. The gameloop is pretty fun and feels mostly polished. I did get robbed by a customer though after filling their 4! potion order, they left without paying me my 100g! And I was out of money at that point. Good bye, dream business....

Well done!

Developer

Thyanks for review!!!

About that customer that rob you. I discovered this bug after submitting, Game just doesn't update text on the screen, when you advance to next day your money will be shown propery. i'm pretty sure customer payed you right. But now i'm thinking about adding customers that try to give you less.

i liked the pixel art and the guidebook system, neat stuff

The recipe book was a super creative idea. Never seen anything done like it before. Well done!

Developer

Thanks for kind words but i actually stole this idea from other game. Check out "Potion Craft" on steam for similar experience.

Fun game :) On my first try, I kept clicking on the ingredients and dropping them into nowhere so I had to restart hahaha but once I got the hang of it, I enjoyed it!

Developer

Thanks for positive feedback. Glad you enjoyed the game. You didn't have to restart, if ingredient  falls out of the screen it will be automatically returned in your inventory

Ran out of money by day 4, making the potions of the day for 3 days, but those potions never ended up purchased by a client after 10 days cycling through. Definitely needs some test-playing, but liked the art, and the game loop was really similar to mine. Good work, you two!

Thanks for telling. Definitely will work on this too. After rebalancing/reworking selling aspect, to guarantee player selling potions if he listens to goblin, maybe add some opportunities to use or sell potions that haven't been sold on previous days.

Looked at the in-demand potions, strategized my ingredients based on demand, brewed all of my potions, had a nice spread, went to selling and then clicked "Next Day" thinking it was what progressed the text. They didn't want my potions on that day. Maybe a confirmation before you get to go to the next day? Either way the concept was cool and I liked the strategy aspect.

Developer

Thanks for comment. Yeah, the whole selling system needs either rebalancing either rework. I will make it work beautifully after jam

I really liked the idea! I do agree with BlindChaosPanda's comment about QOL feature though. But overall a fun entry! Thanks for sharing it!

Developer

Thanks for feedback. I will work even harder next time!

I really love how you implemented the recipes! With a little bit of testing and polishing it could become a nice management game. By testing I mean - not for bugs but for small QOL features for the player. One example: I made 1 of each potion that Goblin mentioned before Day 1 and couldn't serve even 1 customer. Solution: make Goblin suggest a player to make a few of each potions or make game count approx. customer/potion count for day. Good entry overall.

Wow, thanks for advice.

I will definitely do some polishing after jam on. I liked your idea of calculating customer/potion ratio and teeling it to the player(or at least i think that's what you meant) . For the jam i shoud've just go with 1 customer=1 potion for it to be more enjoyable to play.

Thanks for kind words and more importantly thanks for criticism.<3

Thank you for positive review. Glad you liked the game.
All the potions, ingrifients and customers did my teammate sgm26. He also designed buttons.

Clever way of making a potion ingredient system! Was satisfying to brew

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for feedback! I actulay come up with better brewing system mid jam, but decided to finish this one to save time.

Your game also feels familiar to me! Well done on finishing the game. Quite a lot of reading up front to understand how to play.

Developer

I agree. I should've made illustrations

Developer(+1)
