馃ЖThings to avoid馃Ж Sticky

This jam is a celebration of art, beauty, whimsy, and dreams! Nightmares sometimes happen, so including dark topics in your game is totally fine! There are some boundaries though, and these are in place for the sake of the vibe, and in some cases, to protect the wonderful thoughts and minds of viewers/participants.  A good idea is to 馃Жkeep it light馃Ж!  The last thing we want is for someone to be traumatized or extremely bothered by something we didn't intend to inflict upon them! So to prevent this from happening, here are some-

Things to avoid:
馃ЖExcessive Gore (some blood and mild gore is okay, if something brutal happens, consider having it "out of frame")
馃ЖSexual Themes (Keep in mind this jam is 13+, so please refrain from lewdness. If a story has something sexual happen, imply it with indirectness and wholesomeness, rather than direct confrontation)

Also, avoid:
馃ЖAI Art of Any Kind (It doesn't look, sound, or read well. Find an artist to collaborate with, or make simple designs in an easy art program! But please, do not ruin the spirit of the jam, or your own work by using AI art.)
馃ЖRelying heavily on purchased/premade assets (This can be considered unfair, but it also will not feel true to yourself if it gets to a certain point as well. One of the rating criteria will suffer heavily if your work is unable to shine through, in the midst of premade assets.) (This will not disqualify you, it just isn't encouraged!)

sounds good

Question, would using public domain / copyright-free stock images for collage art break the "Relying heavily on purchased/premade assets" rule?

I mean something like this:

nope, go ahead!

Can you elaborate on the no nsfw/gore a bit? I've already got a concept but am struggling with determing whether things are too nsfw or not, and would love some examples to help me figure it out

Hello! I wrote out some info in our discord regarding that. Generally, just don't make something too disturbing for a 13-15 year old audience since some of the people involved in this jam -and are part of the community- are young. These games should be PG 13. So if something disturbing happens have it happen off screen so imagination does the heavy lifting.

what are the conditions on swearing, if i may ask?

You can have swearing, it's just not recommended. It rarely is pulled off well. Also, I don't swear so in my playthrough's I'll have to substitute whatever the word is in the video

thank you!
