Not bad for a first jam! I liked the concept and I think if you had another day for polishing this would be very enjoyable. Nice job overall
Needed a bit of polish but really impressive how much there was going on here, and the art and sprites all looked fantastic. Great entry!
Thank you so much :D
Having a complete shop, building system, and farming system is super impressive for a game done in 9 days, especially considering this is your first GWJ! The pixel art was very well done and the notifications at the top right were super helpful for knowing what was going on, great job on the clarity. Farming and brewing were fun mechanics as well!
The only issue I had was some kind of desync with the mouse so as others said, I had to use the arrow keys to go full screen, but other than that the game was fantastic. Great job!
Thank you for playing! Your feedback is really appreciated!
Very neat idea, who doesn't want to run a brewery? I was able to get a few different brews going and expanded the brewery to include the oven. Fun take on Brewing by combining it with the farm sim. The spritework was really cool too, I like what you did with the simple pixel style (like the gauge on the equipment). Great job! Sorry you had trouble with the audio on export, but great submission either way!
Thank you for your kind feedback :D
This game sounds so cool with experimenting using different hop timing and ingredients but unfortunately the main menu UI didnt work for me and wasnt able to start a new game
Thank you for your feedback! A few lessons to learn for my next jam around UI scaling :)
this is really ambushes nice work the art style is really nice and the mechanics are quite fun, it would have been nice if there was some sound, keep up the good work :)
Thank you for your really kind feedback :) Next entry I'll make sure the sound works haha!
as a German it is my biggest dream to brew beer! really cool game :)
Thank you!! :)
I like the visuals! with some SFX the game would be more great.
Thank you! I did have SFX and sound but it seems to only be working on Mac :( one to learn from for the next jam!
Cool concept, as others said UI was a bit tricky to get working, but with arrow keys on keyboard I could make it into fullscreen and it was fine.
On my first attempt I think I softlocked myself by not buying brewing pot or oven, so I had to restart.Otherwise pretty cool and nice, especially considering it's done by 1 person
Thank you for your feedback! Weird you managed to soft-lock yourself as it should start with a pot and oven at the top of the Brewery. But maybe a bug to look at!
Ahh, I see. It was not really obvious for me what to do with the warts at first, but you are right it's fine! Thanks, I edited my comment to exclude that
Yeah I had intially wanted to add a proper tutorial page with images but time ran out much quicker then I expected. Looking forward to going again next month :)
I updated the resolution of the page by default so hopefully these issues should be fixed for future playtesters.
Sorry, the ui didn't work for me, wish I could try it seeing all these other comments lol
Ah Im sorry mate - I would fix it but I don't want to go against the rules of the competition!
Hey Goshaman - I have updated the resolution of the game by default and it looks like its working better (tested it on a different pc) - let me know if you can play (didn't change anything in the game itself just the listing of within itch)
A farming sim with brewing mechanic, I like it.
Gameplay wise, some SFX and music could really improve the feeling.
That said, what a great submission made by only one dev.
Just beware of scope creep as other said.
Good luck!
Thank you so much mate, I really appreciate it - I did add music and some basic sound effects, but along with the UI it might not be working on certain devices as I didn't have the time to do testing across OS' and browsers :)
I was impressed you made all this in 9 days!! I'm just learning Godot and made a small game - this would've taken me weeks. The controls were intuitive and while this game is a lot bigger in scope than most submissions I've played, with enough time I see potential in this. Great job, keep going!
Thank you very much! I really appreciate the comment :) I do plan to keep working on this and growing it!
I think author chose to make too big game for a jam. Could be a good entry but looks like author drowned in scope creep.
To get to the actual gameplay I needed to scale up the browser page, after which I could get to the settings and set game to fullscreen to be able at least start to play. Godot is tricky in screen settings when exporting to web, and needs to be tested a lot on different browsers, systems and screen sizes - it's a tip for the future projects!
Thank you I really do appreciate the feedback! I guess this is the perfect example of "It works on my machine", I did have plans to test on more machines but ran out of time.
Your right in scope creep - had a few resources of new game mechanics planned out and partially designed, but life got in the way!
I really appreciate you taking the time to scale your page to actually play it and give me a shot :)
the game didn't work? I think your UI wasn't made to scale properly. Sorry :/
Oh thats weird for me - I made it render in 960×540 and it works for me on a macbook pro. Any chance you can send me a screenshot?
Just updated the itch listing to change the default resolution and it works better on my machine - just a heads up :)
It didn't but seeing the comment above I think the error is rather rookie from me! One to learn for for my next jam :) Would love to push a patch but unfortunately wont be able too under the rules of the jam
You could try to set the game to this resolution in the Itch page on manually mode.
