Really challenging game! I tried to  play without using the save slots as an extra challenge, but, not going to lie, it was really hard. Nice game!

woah! kudos for clarity, even without the text at the start (though thank you still for having it there) i think the way things were designed makes gameplay and mechanics easy to pick up which is really impressive

A challenging, fun, and interesting idea! Definitely one of the most replayable games in the jam, especially with the leaderboard. Since the game is basically infinite, I think it would have been a bit more engaging if you made it get harder over time (either by making the conveyor belts get faster over time or adding time limit of some sort). Other than that though, fun game!

This is more challenging than I thought, solid work.

The presentation is a little cheap-looking, but the game loop itself is actually quite  solid and challenging. I maybe would've added some sort of time limit that replenishes upon making words -- not a super strict one, just one to ensure you're not waiting forever -- but I still enjoyed it regardless.

Thanks for the feedback!

I actually considered adding a time mechanic, but that makes the game too dependent on luck, and I really want the leaderboard to be based on skill, not chance.

For example, what happens if you only have a few seconds left and, due to bad RNG, the exact letter you need just doesn't spawn? The player ends up losing simply because luck wasn't on their side.

By dropping the timer and using a health point system instead, I can guarantee that if a player loses, it's due to a mistake or lack of skill, rather than just bad luck

The game is made in such a way that letters needed will appear almost always but still there is a chance to have bad luck and wait a couple more of seconds waiting for the right letter just for bad luck

Where do you come up with these ideas, man? It’s a fantastic game—congratulations. I also entered this contest with my very first game. Of course, I can’t compare to you, but I’d really love it if experienced players like you could take a look at my game and give me some advice.

It's an entertaining game, and I liked the squares that let you save letters for later, they make you want to keep playing to see if more improvements appear. A very good game.

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you like it!

Ok this is addictive, definitely coming back to this one. So much fun! I'm still salty that only my worst score got saved to the leaderboard though :P After a couple of playthroughs my actual top score is 41 but my saved high score is 19

Yes, sorry about that! I ran into an issue with the leaderboards on the WebGL build. I've actually already fixed it on my end, but I can't update the submission until the voting period is over :( Thank you so much for the kind words, glad you like the game!

Edit: I updated your score to 41 in the leaderboard xD
