I felt so nostalgic playing this game, reminded me of the playing MS Entertainment Pack for Windows as a child. :)
Some of the puzzles were quite challenging and I was really invested into finishing all of them. Definitely one of my favourite entries - congrats!

The behavior when clicking repeatedly in the same spot was also natural, and with the SFX, fonts, and UI design, it was a very well-crafted game! (ツ)ノ

I like the W98 aesthetic quite a lot, and the animals are quite well made. I've enjoyed playing it.

Very cool puzzles - quite challenging and satisfying once you get them right. Retro esthetics and office chatter in the background are great and add to game's atmosphere - this looks like fun internship!

It took me 2 mins to load puzzle 3 after completing puzzle 2. The loading indicator kept spinning.

The spinner indicates the simulation is running. It does not automatically stop or progress to a different puzzle.

This was fun and I love the retro-theme. I couldn't wrap my head around what I could possibly do to win with only one turtle and one dog tho. Everything up until that point made sense but I wonder if I was finding an an unintended solution?

It's addictive, and it reminds me a lot of several classic games I used to emulate on PC. In fact, it really gives you the feel of a classic OS. I assure you I'll give it a 5/5 rating :)

As someone who's old enough to have used Win95 the art style is on point. The game play is addictive battle sim. Not bad.

Like the windows looks, cool concept but not so machine related in my point of view

Very great game, I really into it !!!

Very relaxing and entertaining. Plenty of variations, changes, context, and atmosphere. Very complete and with a rather unique style. I'd just add some background music; it's a PC, right? There must be an MP3 player somewhere, haha.

Developer

The ambient soundtrack is there - it’s an active office workspace! However, I’ve set the default volume quite low to avoid blasting people. I can definitely picture an old-fashioned MP3 application in a more fleshed out version of the game though!

Submitted(+1)

I had to turn the volume all the way up just to hear "something". Okay then 😅. It's just a matter of turning up the game's volume a bit :P

Natural Machines, Inc. might be the most unique game I've played on the Gamedev.js Jam 2026! The concept is really unique and creative and I really liked the humor, although I'm not really much of a RTS guy, but in the 4th puzzle which introduces the turtles, I didn't know what else to do and died instantly. I might be missing something that's just on me, but I would suggest the turtles having the same attack power as the warthogs, just move slower than them. Still, a really solid effort in this jam, Misha! 4.5/5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌗

This game is amazing. Extremely smart and balanced in the encounters. I play a lot of RTS/MOBAs so it kinda reminded me of the logics for wave management on creeps so I was able to tackle it nicely :) The learning curve is phenomenal and amazing job recreating the traditional Windows 98 feeling and corporate environment. Super fun and smart!

The UI feels very nostalgic and I love it!

Nice concept! the puzzle mechanic was a really good feature, which separates this game from other "Desktop-style" games. Well done!

I really enjoyed the mechanics here, and I think I spent more time than I expected solving the puzzles. They're mainly about figuring out where to place each creature. The Windows 95 theme here is quite interesting. The setup of reading emails and likely having a story or lore behind it keeps you engaged, making you genuinely curious to see what happens next. This definitely reminds me of those games like Age of Empires, kinda nostalgic in that sense.

Reminds me of a game called Progressbar 95. I had a great time scratching my head on some of the puzzles, and does give me a work from home vibe from this game. Nice work!

Cozy game, nostalgic Windows 95 style UI, office vibes with a battle simulator that reminded me of age of empires for some reason!

Submitted(+1)

Really cool interface, any you had a good amount of puzzle piece variety. I wish, after you successfully did a puzzle it kicked you back to the puzzle screen automatically. Cool entry.

The way puzzles are sent through retro Windows screens and emails creates such a unique vibe. I love it!
