The opening cinematic hooked me with the art and premise, and the gameplay seems fun on paper, but it's ultimately let down by its UX design and overall high, if not impossible, difficulty. The cutscene black-screen thing is weird, but I kept running into issues after that

  • Changing screens by moving the mouse to the sides of the screen feels kinda wonky and I feel like there should've been a keyboard option for that
  • I couldn't tell how satisfied a customer was by their order at face value or if their patience level affected how much money they gave me (one person kept making weird faces at me no matter what), and I wish there was a way I could see how much they were gonna give me up front
  • The game doesn't convey a lot well, like the fact you need plates to serve the burgers, or the distinction between the blocks of cheese and the slices of cheese the customers kept asking for
  • There were some snafus involving accidentally picking up ingredients that were on the grill when dragging a burger plate across the screen (though I eventually learned to use this to my advantage)
  • There are some actions I feel could've used sound effects when they didn't have any
  • You drop someone's burger to the floor if you placed the plate even just slightly below where you're supposed to on the front counter

Even when I understood these nuances and played as perfectly as I could, I couldn't get anywhere close to the $750 needed by the deadline (I capped out at a little over $450), so I just gave up. I would definitely be interested in a version of this with some of these issues fixed, though.
