  • I liked the mix of deckbuilding and autobattling, and once I understood how the bot parts work, building a stronger setup became pretty satisfying. The music, SFX and overall presentation are nice too, especially considering the two-week timeframe. It could use a clearer tutorial and maybe a speed-up button for battles, but the core concept has a lot of potential.

Great music and SFX!  I concur with the comment below "clearer tutorial and maybe a speed-up button for battles".  Cool images for the cards would be great too, but I understand de-prioritizing it because of the time limitation for the game jam.

it took me a while to understand the game, i lost on my first three attempts to things that felt kinda out of my control, this game could use a tutorial and i think the first items you can select are a bit too rng dependent, it feels like if you dont get a good build from the start you are kinda porked. Once i got a run going and i actually understood the mechanics to a certain degree this game was quite fun, i did have a good few instances of the UI bugging out. Overall this is a really cool concept and if it got a bit of polish it could become a really cool game.

I liked the attention to detail in the world-building, such as where the chosen chassis is placed. It really adds to the atmosphere! (ツ)ノ

At first, I found it very interesting, and the gradual improvements are what hooked me, since that's what I like in a game. It's an incredible piece of work, especially the programming. I assure you it deserves a 5/5 score.

In a game with so many variables, how you present them to the player is crucial. Frankly, it's very unintuitive to know which pieces do what. And the battles... if the point is simply to watch them. There's not much to see besides the numbers being counted. The music is perfect for what you're trying to convey, but the UX/UI aspect is sorely lacking.

Thanks for the critiq

That was a fun experience in understanding what should be working and how to build your bot to last longer in those fights.

The speed of battle seems really slow, and at the start was confusing (I thought I needed to click something to start the battle).

I’ve encountered a minor bug. When the energy consumption visualization shows nil.

wow you did alot for a two week time frame. There was a few parts that didnt feel responsive and i think a speed up option would have been cool too.

Double clicking is not intuitive for selection of cards. Graphics are great, sound is good. Gameplay is a bit slow for my taste, but its fun.

Developer

Thanks for the critiq. Was also thinking the same, to use buttons instead of double clicking. @Valion Lockhart had suggested a 2x button to speed things up, which I think is a good idea which I will implement

I love deck builder games, and I really enjoyed this one. Great job!

I couldn't get it to work. It never loads. I see Defold  screen load up and then its a ll just white.  Wish I could have seen and played it though.. looks fun.

Developer

Sorry about that, though you are the first to report if such an issue. Thanks for trying to play it

Bolt Bucket has a cool idea at its core. The new player experience could use some smoothing out — I also encountered a bug where rerolling the shop caused my weapon to vanish.

The autobattling mechanic is solid and seems well-balanced, though the pacing felt slow. A 2X speed button would help tremendously, or even an active skill to give the player something to do during fights.

UI, SFX, and music are all well done. The biggest visual drawback is that parts lack basic distinguishing art, making it hard to tell things apart at a glance.

Overall, an interesting entry that fits the jam theme nicely.

The UI is quite clear for the complexity of the game, and I enjoyed the music and sound effects even if they're a bit too loud.

I tried it twice and lost both times, so I probably miss something about the mechanics. It doesn't seem like you can affect the outcome of the game after you select the cards

Great effort

Good game with much potential. ☺️

The UI and audio is nice, but I have no idea what I am doing in the game

As someone who don't play deck building games, this is a nice game but I hope more visuals like something to look at like two tanks, and some animation and all and I know the time is pretty limited... Solid game!

Pretty cool. Just wish there was more to look at. Like explosions and stuff or something lol

Developer(+1)

Ya I understand, wanted that too but didn't get the time to put those in unfortunately
