Very innovative! Took me 2 tries to beat it

Very creative idea. Loved it.

I arbitrarily named the kids GRU, NO, and FACE; that last one in particular made me feel like I was playing Wordle with all the letters knocked off. I perked up a little when I was done with the naming and realized what the gimmick of the game was; it was honestly really clever, and somehow despite the names, I still managed to make it through on the first try. Gotta say, though, those kids weren't as grumpy as I was expecting.

Oh wow I'm really impressed that you got it first try! Even I can't consistently do that. I had feedback that it was WAY too hard, so I toned it down a lot, although the last day was closer to the inital difficulty. I wish you had seen the death screen though, I'm pretty proud of it 😅

You know what, I can spare a minute to make you happy

Edit: maybe these kids were grumpier than I thought

Oh uh thanks for coming back to it I guess!

This is an interesting concept. I don't envy whoever coded it XD

Developer

Thanks! And the coding was a lot of fun, really! I learned how to make a dialog system and got to learn Godot's Resource system more in-depth :D

However, on a similar note... I don't envy whoever coded Piko haha

One of the most unique concepts in the jam by far! Having to use the names of the kids as game controls was such a cool idea that was expanded on well with the wario-ware core gameplay, and the goofy dialogue and premise just added another general layer of craziness to the whole thing. Overall, very spiffy game, good work on this!

I liked it, but the mechanics were difficult to figure out at first. Thanks for the experience!

Made to day three with my kids QE WASD and POI after making the mistake of naming them pen dumb and as the first time lol

Very fun and chaotic, the most confusing games for the though were the four-key ones since i didnt know which index corresponded to which direction (aka WASD controlled like it was ADSW if that makes sense), probably just skill issue though. Very fun!

this is so clever (i name the one kid yuck that was the worst controls i could have possibly chosen i had so much fun with him)

This was a really cool take! The minigames were frustrating but in a fun way that made me want to keep going. The only stick was that the volume keybinds were different on my computer, I use a spanish keyboard and my volumes were on ' and ¡ otherwise great job!

Developer

Thanks! About the volume keybinds, I used Godot's physical keycodes to determine which key was pressed, meaning that the keyboard layout was ignored. ' and ¡ on the spanish keyboard are in the same spot as - and = on a US or CMS keyboard (I said - or + because SHIFT and = together does + but you don't need to press SHIFT in-game).

I don't really know what was the best solution for this, it would have been a bit weird to say "press ' and ¡" (or something else depending on your layout) because it doesn't make as much sense intuitively as "+ or -" for volume up and down. I also could have used normal keycodes (which take keyboard layout into account) and you would have had to press + or - where it actually is on your keyboard, but depending on the layout, it might be very awkward to do so because of the keys' positions. I don't know, what do you think would have been better?

Anyway glad you enjoyed the game ^^

I really did enjoy it, you did a wonderful job! And as for the keybinds, my personal opinion would have been normal keycodes just since the volume really only happens once so it's not as time sensitive.
