Finally delivering all the toys was satisfying after struggling quite a few times. Great gameplay, graphics, sound effects, music.
Super innovative! lol
I really like games like this where you figure things out gradually! I also love how failing makes you laugh instead of getting frustrated! (ツ)ノ
Great work, I feel this is an original gameplay, I hate the ninja robot xd
well done
Cool gameplay and nice art! But, it gets a bit frustrating as the claw is getting attacked haha. Great Job!
Hi! Streaming your game now:
Nice idea, but I found it kinda frustrating.
I find it needs a bit more polish, at which point it could become a really great game.
Judging from the source code, the toys are supposed to bop up, when put into the drop off area.
Which would be fine, if the movement was prevented. But if you try to eliminate unwanted "enemies" first, like the canon or the robot, the canon can still shoot you, from within the pipe.
Or the toys get irreplaceably lost.
For example, I remove the canon and robot first, then got rid of the monkey because I accidentally grabbed that, instead of the mouse. Then I got the mouse and put it in. And now the child wants the monkey. That should have been in the drop-off area and I can't progress anymore.
The next problem is, the toys constantly run after the claw making it impossible to chose a specific one, and you either have to rely on another toy shooting or punching you, to be able to regrab.
I really appreciated the volume sliders, most games are missing them, but I find at least a mute button to be the bare minimum. So seeing this (without even using it) made me extremely happy.
So cool, i really enjoyed it.
The gameplay is very fun, and the overall art style combined with the interactions makes the game incredibly joyful!
Woah cool game! Like the idea of the toys fighting back, with some background music this could go far. Nice work!
In my opinion, this game is very innovative and nicely done for game jam. The only problem I had was with time limit. Very cool! Great work!
Solid work for a jam entry. I enjoyed it! I really dig the retro vibes here. Reminds me of the classics. 5/5
I like the concept of your game buddy, where every toy we get can fight back. I really love that. I think all you need to do is add some background music.
I really love the gameplay! The chaotic nature of the toys is creating a fun dynamic in the gameplay. I can use bullets to release the unwanted toy, and I can always get a UFO first and drop to try my luck if the kid is just wanting UFO this round, those little naughty toys in some way makes not only trouble but help to the player, which is a great chemistry. I like the graphics of the toys, especially the robot, when caught its facial expression is really cute and made me laugh. Not sure if it is intended, but the need to go down again to see what's the next toy complicate things a bit, but it's no big issue. The control and grab is smooth. I like the leaderboard as well. Had a lot of fun playing it and got a global rank 1! Well done!
That's tough! It would have been nice to be able to see the machine though, I kept sorta guessing at where the toy was. Fun idea!
I liked the concept of a arcade machine for a machine themed jam, really clever. I did feel like the controls were a little clunky, and there were times where it felt a little too uphill and unfair, especially with the cannon enemy. I think it would have been nicer to have something that either I felt less in control of, like a quick turnaround one directional claw, or more control of, like faster finer movements and ability to release or go up or clamp down at a specific time. Also, the kid took too long to tell me what he wanted, especially in a time limited game. Otherwise, good job submitting, and I hope you work on this in the future.
This game is a fun little challenge. I never really one because I just kind of suck at claw machines BUT that didn't keep me from slamming more quarters in to try.... which is the sign of a good game.
Oh and for other players, if you hit a UI bug, just play in full screen!
Good job!
The game here is quite challenging when you try to get what the boy is asking for. I get that you need to pick up what the boy wants, but I can grab everything except what he's asking for, which is the little thing over there. This shooting machine is tough, and it really is quite difficult. My skill level doesn't seem to be enough to get things here. It's just like a real machine, so it's funny how it has the same kind of difficulty as a real machine meant to make you lose your coins. I think it would be a great game for streamers to play and rage quit. Actually, this is a great idea to expand and evolve into a Rage game. I can imagine this with an infinitely large level, which makes each decision really important as you have to dodge objects along the way. It's a ridiculously tall machine that would make it almost impossible to succeed, so I think it would be quite an interesting rage challenge.
Thank you for your feedback, I actually did imagine initially that this would be a hand-crafted level-by-level game, where the machine would grow taller and taller by the level and platforms/walls would block the claw and force you to have to snake through to the bottom to get the right toy and then get it all the way back up. Due to time constraints we were only able to finish classic and endless with a few robots, but I still find this to be a good prototype. The godot programmers I was working with seem done with the project for now, but if I could find more programmer(s) that'd be interested in furthering this concept I'd definitely work with them. Also watched a streamer play this earlier today and seeing him get frustrated at the cannon while the boy continued to ask for the mouse toy was hilarious for me to watch.
Nice game! The time limit feels a bit too short. I did manage to win once, but the time's up screen popped up before the winning screen.
Claw Machine Chaos lives up to its name — it's definitely chaotic. The obstacles are well designed, the music and SFX are good, and I really appreciate the inclusion of volume sliders. The only feature I found myself wanting: a way to drop a toy if I grab the wrong one, instead of having to hit something to drop it.
I have never played a game exactly like this before, what a neat exploration of the claw machine. I think from a UI perspective I never figured out where the time remaining was.
