I loved the retro look, audio, piloting the mech, and the day–night cycle. I’d be excited to see this evolve into a full game.

Hi! Streaming your game now:

Developer

Wow! Thanks for playing :) Regarding the ammo, you have 2 turrets, so when it goes from 150 to 70, it's because the other turret is reloading but you don't see it in the UI. So technically, you had 160 total. I should've made it clearer, haha. I'm making sure to fix all these bugs, thanks for the feedback!

Great visual style and sound design! The gameplay is really fun. My only minor issue was that the upgrade and weapon-switching system felt a bit confusing at first.

Seeing the ammo count for all weapons right from the start, even when only one is available, is a bit misleading before you figure out how things work. It might be better to either hide the ammo for locked weapons or allow the player to switch to them and show a message that they need to be unlocked in the upgrades menu first.

Developer

Thanks for the comment and the feedback :) I'll be sure to implement more UI indications

Awesome game. This was on my list for must play before the jam and I am in no way disapointed. Art is great, very addictive loop, overly comical world building. Totally my kind of game.

Keep up the good work!

I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

I thought it was a simple 2D game, so I was surprised that the houses were three-dimensional like 3D! I want to play it thoroughly, so I added it to my collection! Rooting for you! (ツ)ノ

Great entry, and also similar to mine, haha! I love that we can play inside a mech, fits the theme quite well. The music and sound effects are fitting (reminds me slightly of Star Craft.)

I wish the wave could start sooner, or rather, let the player decide when they are ready for the next wave could also work.

Thanks for playing :) The reason I had a day/night system is to set up a base for what I want to do in the future, which is to turn this into a farming sim mixed with a shoot em up.

nice mech gameplay, I love the immersion. really satisfying to kill bugs with the gatling gun.

I love the graphics and retro vibe. Those poor cows, I gotta save 'em Great job!

Developer

Save them pls x)

They did a great job with the polish, although I don't quite understand the difference between using the mech and fighting without it (why would I do that in the first place? haha), but it was fun. Well done.

Developer

Thanks for playing :) I'm not sure I understood the question. You fight with the mech since it's more powerful. You wouldn't normally fight without it, but if the mech breaks, you'll still be able to finish off the bugs.

Woah.. I saw this on the discord, but playing it makes this so much more awesome. This is really polished and fun, there’s a lot of charm in this especially if you grew up playing the classics. The card art reminds me of Contra, then the top down gameplay and jumping in mechs reminds me of stage II from Super Contra and parts of Contra III or really Rouge Corps. Great job with this!

pretty cool, the graphics remind me of some good old games :)

Decon has an awesome, weirdly charming premise — pilot a mech to protect a cow farm from aliens. The art style is delightful, and the mech controls feel responsive and weighty.

That said, I found myself wanting a proper tutorial to explain the basics. Also, the cows tend to spread all over the place, which became frustrating to manage. An enclosure system would be great — though I respect if that's an intentional design choice. On the positive side, the risk of accidentally shooting your own cows adds real tension.

Audio is strong across the board, and the game fits the jam theme nicely.

With some additional tutorialization and UI polish, this is a game I'd be genuinely excited to see evolve further.

Thanks for the feedback! I agree, I should've had a better tutorial in place. The cows being able to wander was intentional since I wanted to encourage the player to herd them and keep them away from each breach, rather than have them sit in one place.

This game is so good! Will definitely waiting for the updates you are planning for. We mush protecc da cows

Thanks for playing and the support :)

Great game! It’s polished in every aspect, and the reference to that Love, Death & Robots episode is really clear. Pilotting the mech and smashing those nasty bugs feels incredibly satisfying.

The only thing I’d suggest is adding a small introductory tutorial for the game mechanics.

But anyway, 5/5 – keep it up!

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked it :) I do plan on turning this into a full game, so feel free to check my devlogs after the jam.

Great job! Reminds me my own first games with that perspective like GTA2. Love it!

I really enjoy the game concept of having to defend at night and farm simulator at day. Great work!

Thanks for playing :) That's my end goal with this game: farming sim mixed with shoot 'em up. I think it's an interesting niche, and if you're interested in seeing the final product, you should keep up with my devlogs after the jam.

Nice game man! I will keep in touch with your devlogs!

I definitely have no idea what I am doing, and I kinda killed my cows a lot than defending them lol.
I love the effect of shooting and visuals, looks clean and retro.
Would try the game again for a better run.

Developer

I realized I definitely needed a tutorial lol. It takes getting used to to get better tbh.

This was a ton of fun. The music is so dope too. Well done!
