Hi, game is really wonderful.
Art style and dialogs are incredible. I really like voices of people, they are sound so cool and unique – I would love to play more and hear more.
The story it’s very interesting and I wanted to finish it, but ended up stuck at the scene with door. I found code and write it, and then nothing happened. I don’t know is it error or not, but it’s really unfortunate. Story is so well done and even sad, I wanted to know how it’s end.
But still great job, I really enjoyed playing this game.
Hey, thank you so much! I really appreciate hearing you enjoyed the game! The Door is unfortunately all we had time to get through during the jam, but the ending is coming soon...
This is such a wonderful project. And you have voice acting! Wow. The story was interesting and writing is beautiful
Ah, thank you so much! We did our best and I'm glad it resonated
Loved this one! Absolutely adore the art design and the voice acting. I normally have a hard time with most voice acting, but this one was fantastic--superb work! The atmosphere and story was very interesting, I could easily see this getting fleshed out. Loved the little bits of lore we got, felt like just stepping into an established world. Really liked the puzzles as well, they were fun to figure out!
Just a couple minor nitpicks--did have some trouble getting menus to minimize, so would have loved those to be easier to click out of. I had to restart at one point because one of the journals wouldn't minimize. I'm also not positive I saw the entire ending--I got to the door with all the statues and it gave me the correct code beep, but nothing else happened and I couldn't click anything new. Not sure if that was intentional, or I just ran into a bug. I'd also love to be able to have either faster text, or a way to double click to get all the text to appear so I could read it faster without accidentally advancing.
Overall though, I loved this entry! I felt super immersed in the world and am left wanting more. I'd love to see more of this. Felt super polished and well thought through, really interesting story with wonderful visuals. Great job! :)
Thank you thank you! The worldbuilding was such a joy to put together. Glad you enjoyed the puzzles as well!
The Door is unfortunately as far as we got during the jam time, but more is coming soon!
And great point about the menus, UI overhaul is on our list of improvements!
Thank you for the feedback and for playing! Hope you'll return when we've sorted everything out
really liked the atmosphere here. it reminded me a bit of Threads film and that 80s post-nuclear mood, with some Mad Max-like feeling too. i’m a big fan of this kind of setting
the voice acting is also really strong. in some ways the game feels like a small audio drama, and that works well for the mood
gameplay-wise, it is mostly pixel hunting and puzzle solving, and it was understandable enough for me. but i got stuck on the bedroom puzzle, I think it was the third one, and could not figure out the code even after reading the journals. if you can drop a small hint in the comments, I would like to finish it and see what happens next
one small thing, the story part between the first and second gameplay segments felt a bit too long for me, but overall the mood is very strong
Hello, thank you kindly! What awesome reflections. I too love the Mad Max feeling so I'm really glad that came through!!
Great note about the story between the gameplay, I'm actually revising the script as we speak!!
The game will returned in a more finished more polished state, with the puzzles a little more clarified. For now, I wonder if one of the journals is communicating something across entries...
Thanks for playing!!
The game's story really hooked me, the atmosphere is really well done as well! I got up to the bedroom scene but unfortunately really struggling on finding out what the number is, I thought perhaps it is a number in the journals but after inserting every number and guessing I given up.
It took me also a while to realize you can turn pages in the books, it should be more clear that you can flip the page. Another thing I struggled is when you click on something, the UI should automatically close, I struggled multiple times where I close UI
Overall though the game was really nice and voice acting is also done quite well. You all did a really good job on it!
Ah hooray! Thank you so much, so glad to hear.
Bummer you got stuck on the bedroom journals. We'll work to clarify this puzzle a little more in our post-jam revisions.
Thanks for playing!!
The voice acting work is amazing, and the atmosphere is excellent as well. I really liked it and was genuinely intrigued to know about the story and world. The game did crash after I finished the bedroom scene. Also I think the UI can use some polish, there needs to be an X button to exit out of menus or at least clicking anywhere outside the journal/puzzle area should put you out of it. The page turning on the journal can also use some pointers. Overall a very interesting story, world that I would like to explore and great voice acting.
Thank you so much!! So excited you were fond of the world and the voice acting! 🙂↕️ Sorry for the crash, and we have quite a lot of UI elements to integrate. We're keen to keep working and finish out our complete vision for the game, thank you for your feedback at this stage :) And for putting on these sweet jams
Great atmosphere and design, i can feel it overflowing the boundaries of what you had time to make however. Gameplay is limited, i wish there was more puzzles, or more environments to play in, and i find the controls a bit stilted (i wish i could hit escape to close an opened clue), and while you imply the theme of decay, you expressly near the end of the narrative, flip it on it's head and deny it. I also chose to go towards the singing and the game just booted me back to the bedroom scene, not sure if that was intentional and i ran at the end of content, or a glitch.
Your sound design was exceptional however! this game doesn't need music, it works very well without it, and the voice acting and effects on samir's voice are top notch, and your sprite work is fun to play in, my critiques are small in the grand scheme of what you made, becuase it stands on it's own. All in all quite polished, i wish there was more c:
It’s even better with atmosphere and music haha! Just ran out of time to implement it all unfortunately. Will definitely fix the bugs and add sound for after the jam! Would love it if you gave it another shot then.
Thank you so much! Good flag about the singing leading to bedroom. Def not intended, but that's about where we stopped on content anyway, you just missed one image!
Appreciate your kind and thoughtful feedback
Great work! I was really into the story, but got stuck at the journals... could you give me any clues? 🙈
Hi! Ty ;) In Journal two, you can find one number by entry
